Our front page cover features the French Bulldog, June Wall’s Sealaw Best Kept Secret, owned in partnership with breeder, Geoff Corish. Photographs by Noel Beggs. ‘Lewis’ became one of Ireland’s youngest ever Best in Show winners when he took the accolade at the Tralee Championship show under Nicky Hammond, at only 8 months of age. He had already enjoyed a meteoric start to his career as a puppy, by qualifying for the Combined Canine Pup of the Year Finals at Sligo under Stephanie Walsh, and by the end of the year, at still only 12 months of age, he had amassed 10 Green Stars, 2 group wins, 6 group 2’s and 2 Group 4’s. Already one of the characters around the shows, Lewis lives with June and Noel Beggs in their Everready household of Rottweilers, Poodles & Pekingese, where he thinks he is a big dog, and is spoilt rotten by everyone.
