Not yet 2 years old, the Petit Basset Griffon Vendeen, Ch Soletrader Buddy Holly, became a very well known and popular little dog on the Irish showscene during 2018, piloted by Cathy Neill from Co Antrim, who owns him in partnerhip with Lizzie Greenslade and young Oliver and Erin Robertson whose parents, Gavin and Sara, bred him.

Buddy took the rings by storm from his arrival in Ireland in the Spring last year, following his CC and BOB at Crufts at the start of March, winning the group on St Patrick's Day and going one further the next day at Celtic Winners International with Best in Show. No fewer than 6 all breeds Best in Shows, 3 Reserve BISs, 2 BIS 3 - 2 BIS 4 and 17 Group wins later, he is Ireland's Top Dog for 2018, titled Irish Kennel Club Dog of the Year 2018, and will also receive the trophy for GAIN Pet Nutrition/Irish Canine Press Dog of the Year, being literally hundreds of points clear on the Top Winners Leaderboard for 2018.

Congratulations to all involved in this accolade, his breeders & owners and especially Cathy whose preparation, presentation and handling helped him to the top, with a special mention to little Grace, whose special 'Buddy' he has been throughout his show career....
