Taking centre stage in the Best In Show ring was US judge Donna Francis and her choice saw a back-toback BIS win for ‘Skye’, the Miniature Schnauzer Big Ben’s Number One with Soletrader, co-owned by Sara Robertson and son Oliver and Cathy Neill, who handled her to her second win in two consecutive days. RBIS was Barry O’Neill’s Basset Hound Ch/GB/Int Ch Knockogue Arthurs Legacy, a top winner since his puppy days.

Donna Francis also judged best Baby Puppy in Show, selecting as his winner Craig Bannon and Niamh Carroll’s five-month-old Akita Cannonbear Stings Like A Bee, with reserve to Jo Cairns, Steve Hare and Brenda Groves’ Boxer, In Top Form at Jimbren, ‘Bustle’ just four months old.

Heading the champion stakes under Anita Foley-Duggan was Tony Moran’s Tibetan Spaniel GB Ch Sommerlyst’s Rigpa Atisha; two-year-old ‘Iggy’. In second place was Billy and Josh Henderson’s Dobermann Ch/GB Ch Tuwos Halestorm.

Anita Foley-Duggan judged the Puppy Stakes. Topping the entry was Paul, Jean and Kelly Lawless’ Tervueren Revloch Just The Ticket; ten-month-old ‘Jaffa’ was handled by Kelly. Runner-up was Conor Cahill and Mary Conroy’s Akita, Roycon Raising Hell.

Sally Tonks and Dione Fitzsimons’ Pyrenean Mountain Dog Ch/GB/Int Ch Shanlimore Maverick, making a first appearance in the veteran stakes, was Anita Foley-Duggan’s winner; nine-year-old ‘Darcy’, handled by Dione, is a group and BIS winner. Taking second place was the Banbridge winner, Pamela and Ryan Hunter’s Whippet Ch/GB/Int Ch Mossbawnhill It’s All About Me.

The brace stakes winners under Anita Foley-Duggan were the brother and sister Alaskan Malamutes, Darren and Elaine Walker’s Lueldar Midnight Runner and Ch Lueldar Dixie Chick.

American judge Sandra Wolfskill judged group 1 where her winner was Mandy Finnegan’s Shetland Sheepdog Fearnach Custom Made for Lukinwuf, who was to go on later to BIS4. In second place was Karen McDevitt’s Rough Collie, two-year-old Caronlea Celtic Love.

Francesco Cochetti judged group 2 sending through Sara and Oliver Robertson and Cathy Neill’s Miniature Schnauzer Big Ben’s Number One with Soletrader, ‘Skye’ later to take her second BIS consecutively. In second place was Rose Dooley’s fawn Great Dane Ch/Lux Ch Ballyfrawley Poker Face.

It was John Weatherhead’s Kerry Blue Terrier Ch/GB Ch Hallsblu Fibber Magee who came through group 3 under US judge Betty Ann Stenmark, finishing the day BIS3. Second place in the terriers went to Inge Flamang’s West Highland White Terrier Magic Matisse vom Maerchengarten, handled by Ken Crockett.

Harry O’Donoghue judged the Dachshunds in group 4, awarding top spot to Gerry McFaul’s Longhaired Ch/GB Ch Dachville Special Blend, ‘Jill’ now with 11 CCs as well as her many successes at home in Ireland. In second place was Mary and Joe Allan and Mary Dick’s Miniature Wire, fiveyear-old Ch/Gib Ch Alpheratz Francesco.

Group 5 was judged by Sharon Green who found her winner in Olive Taylor’s Chow Ch Chivas Royal Djalo at Taylorian; 16-month-old Boris, an import from Belarus. In second place was Stephen Minogue’s Japanese Shiba Inu Jiltrain Jackpott, 13-month-old ‘Jackson’ the recent winner of POTY 2014 at Easter.

It was the RBIS winner, Barry O’Neill’s Basset Hound Ch/GB/Int Ch Knockogue Arthurs Legacy, who won group 6 under Francesco Cochetti, with second place awarded to Ivor and Michelle Keelan’s Petit Basset Griffon Vendéen Ch Afterglow Chunkey Monkey of Tejas.

Frank Kane judged Group 7 his winner was the Pointer, Colette and Roger Perkins’ Sh Ch Kanix Fate Of Brent, ‘Olly’ taking his third group this year. In second place was Sinead Taggart’s Hungarian Vizsla Sh Ch/ GB Sh Ch/Lux Ch Bitcon Card Tricks for Cooley.

Frank Kane judged group 9, awarding top spot to Ashling Connolly’s Bichon Frisé Ch/GB Ch Ashmair Sunshine All The Way, ‘Mimi’ has six CCs and was the toy group winner at LKA ’13 and Three Counties ’14. Second place was Stephen Lloyd’s Lhasa Apso Ch Owenavera Loving The Love, ‘Lacey’ was the CC winner at Belfast last year.
