Best in Show at Munster Canine was Liz Wogan's Keeshond bitch, GB Ch Neradmik Uptown Girl Deminiac, who won her three CCs in England before she was 15 months old, becoming the 7th GB Champion for Deminiac. Just five trips over the water saw her win 2 Res CCs and 3 CCs, with BOB, and now at her first show this year at home, 'Lili' takes the breed and Group 5 under Sally Burns followed by her first all breeds BIS under International all breeds judge, Colette Muldoon. Reserve BIS was Carla Bollard O'Callaghan's Afghan Hound, Ch GB & Int Ch Ashahni Amir Jun Ch; 'Caleb' a multi Group and BIS winner.

Colette Muldoon judged Best Baby Puppy In Show, awarding that honour to Declan Kenny’s Japanese Spitz Sherylbrina Princess Royal, four month-old ‘Holly’ looking as delighted as her owner. RBBPIS went to Heanue and Hade’s Akita Cannonbear Beautifull Knightmare.

MUNSTER '14 CHAMPION STAKES
Topping the champion stakes under Dolores Dinneen was Philip O’Brien, Richard Dalton and Jarka Poulova’s Kerry Blue Terrier Ch Dalstar Il Divo; he was the group winner this year at Banbridge and later in the day went on to repeat this win. In second spot was Brian and Maureen Carroll’s group-winning Keeshond Ch Lyntova Legend Has It.
MUNSTER '14 PUPPY STAKES
Stakes classes at Munster Canine were decided by Irish all-breeds judge Dolores Dinneen, in the puppy stakes her winner was Joan Duffus’ Samoyed Radost Zhizni Arctic Light over Kynoch, seven-month-old ‘Asha’ bred in Russia by Oksana Dombrovskaya. She was competing in her first puppy stakes and later in the day went on to win the bitch green star. Runner-up was Olive Taylor’s Chow Chivas Royal Djalo at Taylorian, yet another import, this time from Belarus.

MUNSTER '14 VETERAN STAKES
Jane Gostynska’s nine-year-old Basenji Ch Bubas Rolling Thunder, was Dolores Dinneen’s choice to head the veteran stakes.
MUNSTER '14 BRACE STAKES
Winning the brace stakes under Dolores Dinneen were Darren and Trish Lockley’s Border Terriers Crazy Train Pilgrim to Chatmoss and Chatmoss Rebel Rebel, who was BOB on the day.
MUNSTER '14 GROUP 1
Group 1 under Billy Blount saw a repeat of the Hibernian group results, with the winner’s rosette to Rose and Colm Hastings’ Old English Sheepdog Ch Lambluvs Sultry Secret, who finished BIS3 and was to go on to greater things the following day. Second placed was David McKenna’s young Bouvier des Flandres Nikolaev Tyrion at Davdeir.

Sally Burns, known for her top winning Toy Poodles, was ring centre for group 2 where her winner was the Shar-Pei, Adele Kerrisk’s Ch Chuanfa Compact at Qing Iverna, starting off a good weekend, with Paul Scanlon and Ashling Connolly’s Miniature Schnauzer Nujax Johnny Cash, BIS at IKC Celtic Winners, taking G2.

Judging the terriers of group 3 was Bill McEntee, known for his many years in Cocker Spaniels, and he gave the nod to Richard Dalton, Philip O’Brien and wife Jarka Poulova’s Kerry Blue, Ch Dalstar Il Divo, winner of the champion stakes earlier in the day, with Ross Delmar’s Smooth Fox Terrier Ch Shillelagh Smooth Operator second, ‘Balloo’ the top terrier on the ICP Leaderboard for the last couple of years.
MUNSTER '14 GROUP 4
Carole Mulcahy moved from the sunny climes of Sydney, Australia, over a year ago to the much less temperate location of Ireland. This time it was her task to judge the Dachsunds of group 4 and her winner once again gave Gerry McFaul more points on the ICP Leaderboard, for his Longhaired Ch/UK Ch Dachville Special Blend. Second was Christine Bastable’s Miniature Smooth Chrishanes Maxwell Edison, a previous group winner.

Sally Burns was also ring centre for group 5, and her winner was Liz Wogan’s Keeshond Neradmik Uptown Girl Deminiac, now a GB champion and on her way here to taking her first BIS. Runner-up was Jimmy Duggan’s Siberian Husky Ch/GB/Int Ch Bedarra Cold Paws Warm Heart for Leorient, piloted as ever by wife Anita Foley Duggan who has handled ‘Flint’ to so many top wins both at home and in GB.

John R Walsh Junior judged group 6, finding his winner in Ivor and Michelle Keelan’s Petit Basset Griffon Vendéen Ch Afterglow Chunkey Monkey of Tejas, his fourth group this year and he has also three ‘reserves’ and a G4, making him second on the ICP Leaderboard to date. Second was the Dalmatian, Loiusa and son Eddie Casey’s Buffrey Pop Goes The Weasel at Moyglass, just a youngster but already with a G2 at CCC International.

Group 7 saw Johnny Muldoon give top honours to the Pointer, Wendy Fleming’s Sh Ch Carmandine Kimono of Glenariff, a first group win though she was fourth at Newtownards International; she was Annual Champion in both ’12 and ’13. Tom and Annie Mervyn’s German Shorthaired Pointer Sh Ch/GB Sh Ch Karlivar Dusky Rose at Tomanipoint was second; BIS last year at Deise with eight groups, she topped the 2013 ICP Group Leaderboard.

Jeanette Filskov’s Golden Retriever, Crufts G2-winning Ch/GB/Dan/Int Ch Abinvale Traguardo, handled by breeder Emma Archibald, won group 8 under Sandra Whelan. ‘Blue’, back home in Ireland to be campaigned by his breeders, Emma and her parents Bette and Frank, has certainly done them all proud winning his GB crown and BIS and groups in Ireland. Second was Chris and Hilary Laverty’s Cocker Spaniel Laveris Watchme, talking his first group placing.
MUNSTER '14 GROUP 9
Johnny Muldoon was also in charge of group 9 and here his red rosette went to Sean Martin’s Cavalier King Charles Spaniel Ch Glencross Alexandria, winning her second group after which she took BIS4; she was top Cavalier ‘13 and won Cavalier Pup of the Year at the final last year. She won this group here last year, one of only two Cavaliers to take a group in ’13 and the only one to win so far year. Sharon O’Brien handled her top winning Tibetan Spaniel Ch/GB Ch Rosanley The Adonis at Torfness to second spot. ‘Buddy’ was BIS a few weeks ago at Hibernian and includes among his many CC and BOBs, Crufts ’13, where he was group shortlisted.

Having a busy day, Johnny Muldoon was back in the ring to decide the best in group 10, and he sent forward the Afghan Hound, Carla Bollard O’Callaghan’s Ch/GB/Int Ch Ashahni Amir, ‘Caleb’ en route to RBIS. Gerry and Pauline Clarke’s Irish Wolfhound Ch Roxanne of Shantamon was runner-up. She was IKC Top Showdog in ’13 and represented Ireland at the Eukanuba World Challenge in Orlando in December 2013.

The day was too hot for some – after waiting patiently beside owners Ann and Austin Long Doyle, who took up BIS and stakes judging respectively the following day at Cork, St Bernard ‘Roly’ (Ch/Int/Lux Ch II Divo Roly by Longsdyle) decided enough was enough and had a lie down.
