MUNSTER '13 BEST IN SHOW
Well known Limerick man, Anthony Kelly, one of Ireland’s All Breeds judges, was the Best in Show judge at Munster Canine and his BIS winner was Cathy Loughlin and Katie Kelly’s Irish Setter, Sh Ch Rohanmor You Were Made For Me, bred and handled by Cathy on this occasion. ‘Digger’ today winning his fourth group, his three previous successes were at ILKA, IKC International, and Cloghran last year with a G2 at Limerick on the Munster Circuit. Reserve Best in Show under Anthony was Andrea Cleary’s Rottweiler, Ch Cuchulain the Brave, ‘Cooper’ was RBIS last year also at Limerick and was taking his firstgroup this year.

MUNSTER '13 CHAMPION STAKES
Heading up the Champion Stakes under Vincent O’Brien was Melanie Corcoran’s Staffordshire Bull Terrier, Ch & GB Ch Zakstaff What’s The Story at Molru, Group winner at IKC Celtic Winners and Hibernian this year, and the Dog CC winner at Crufts.
MUNSTER '13 PUPPY STAKES
Irish All Breed judge, Vincent O’Brien, judged the Puppy Stakes and from the 46 hopefuls, his winner was the young Whippet bitch, Lynda Cuthbert Matthews, Don Foran and Stephen Thomas’ Ailesbury Silver Lace, ‘Ivy’ is already a Green star winner and had several top results from open shows earlier in the year.

Patsy Lawlor, well known secretary of Killarney Ch Show judged Group 1 where her winner was Alex, Lynne and Tracey Douglas’ Border Collie, Dalguise Spirit of Love in Talard, handled by Tracey, a first group placing for this recently titled dog. In second spot under Patsy was John O’Mahoney’s Pembroke Corgi, Chawton Drama Queen, who was the Group winner earlier this year at Fermoy International.

The Reserve BIS winning Rottweiler, Andrea Cleary’s Ch Cuchulain The Brave, came through from Group 2 under well known Bullmastiff exhibitor, David Gaffney, whose second place rosette went to Dione Fitzsimons’ homebred Dobermann bitch, Ch Fitzkin Eternal Elegance, group winner last year at Tralee.

Patricia Lawlor also judged Group 3, finding her winner in Liz Nagle’s Kerry Blue, GB Ch Stormblu Aristocrat of Colincas, handled by husband, Con; a nice weekend visit back to their native Province. In second place was the Sharp-Dixon, Reyes and Lawless partnership’a Australian Silky Terrier, Curiosity Love Affair, imported from Finland, and expertly handled by Kelly Lawless.

Dave Lawlor from Killarney joined his wife, Patricia, on the judging panel and assessed the Dachshunds of Group 4, finding his winner in Gerry McFaul’s top winning Long Haired, Ch & GB Ch Dachville Special Blend; ‘Jill’, who is currently Top Dachshund, won the Group at Banbridge and was Top Dachshund on the ICP/Connolly’s Red Mills Leaderboard last year. In second spot came Michael Crowley’s young Smooth Haired, Eleanors Surprise at Donnamarc, not yet 8 months old.

Pia Dempsey judged Group 5, choosing Maureen and Brian Carroll’s young, homebred Keeshond, Lynyova Legend Has It, Group winner at Combined International and third at Newtownards, as her winner. For second place, Pia chose Séan Carroll and James Newman’s puppy Pomeranian, Belliver Unexpected Destiny.

Topping Group 6 under Dave Lawlor was Eddie and Gail Patterson’s Rhodesian Ridgeback, homebred Ch Rocksham Kimweridog, 2nd in the group at Fermoy International at the start of May, who finished BIS 4; runner-up today was the Bermingham family’s Dalmatian, Cannabee Casanova at Lornlee.

Group 7 saw the emergence of the Best in Show winner, Cathy Loughlin and Katie Kelly’s Sh Ch Rohanmor You Were Made For Me; judge Donal Neally gave second place to Catherine Kelly’s Hungarian Vizsla, Sh Ch, Lux & Int Ch Risley Mark The Moment, a multi group and BIS winner, today handled by David McLoughlin.
MUNSTER '13 GROUP 8
In charge of Group 8 was Val Coghlan, whose winner was Ralph Dunne’s Clumber Spaniel, Sh Ch & GB Sh Ch Bimbiks Graziella for Richley, a first group victory of the year for this import who has done so well on both sides of the Irish Sea. Runner up was the American Cocker Spaniel, the Kelly-Pilgrim, Price and Rita and Colm Beattie partnership’s Billymac Jaxson.

Val Coghlan was back centre-ring for Group 9, finding his victor Séan Martin’s homebred Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, 17 months old Glencross Alexandria, a first group success for this young lady. In second spot was Ashling Connolly’s Bichon Frise, Ch & GB Ch Ashmair Double Act, BIS winner this year at Fermoy and group winner at Combined, Banbridge and Newtownards.

Maudie Burke judged Group 10 where her winner was Carla Bollard-O’Callaghan’s Afghan Hound, Ch, GB & Int Ch Ashahni Amir, who went on to BIS 3. Runner-up was cross-channel visitor, Audrey Faber’s GB Ch Sufeina Zarita.
