Reserve BIS under Anita was Stuart Cummings’ 15 months old Pointer, Kanix Kroner At Sevenhills, ‘Jensen’ today winning his first Best of Breed.

Judging the Stakes classes at Monkstown was Ned Burke, popular chairman of Tralee, and his winner was Maureen and Brian Carroll’s Keeshond, American bred Cedarhills Shamrock Foreign Correspondent Lyntova, 11 months old ‘Oregon’ the group 5 runner-up recently at Bray.

Ned Burke’s Champion Stakes winner was Sinead Taggart’s Crufts winning Hungarian Vizsla, Sh Ch, GB Sh & Lux Ch Bitcon Card Tricks For Cooley, ‘Rafa’ has 5 CCs, the most recent at East of England and had 4 group wins last year. In second place was Billy Henderson’s Dobermann, GB Ch Tuwos Halestorm, the group winner recently at Kilkenny.
MONKSTOWN '15 VETERAN STAKES
Sally Tonks and Dione Fitzsimons’ Pyrenean Mountain Dog, Ch, GB & Int Ch Shanlimore Maverick, handled by Howard Tonks, was Ned Burke’s Veteran Stakes winner, this victory extending ‘Darcy’s lead at the top of the ICP/ROYAL CANIN Veteran Leaderboard, while in second place was Lynda Dunn’s Saluki, Ch & Int Ch Ulmarra Ibriiz.

Ann Long Doyle was judge elect for Group 1 where her winner’s rosette went to John and Carol Mulcachy’s Rough Collie, Ch & Aust Sup Ch Kazjs Sir Spense, 9 year old ‘Spencer’ the BIS winner at Killarney and Dublin DSS in 2013; runner-up was Catriona O’Neill Caraher’s Border Collie, Sh Ch Huntly I Ain’t No Saint, the BIS winner at Newtownards.

Topping Group 2 under Heather Timmins was Keith Sheehan’s St Bernard Ch Parleshan Gabrielle, a first group win for 22 months old ‘Gabby’ who won the CC at the GB club show this year; in second place was Barbara Evans’ Giant Schnauzer, Silbertraum Silver Flame, handled by Lauren Whan, 8 months old ‘Sorcha’ already with a G4.

It was the RBIS winner, Stuart Cummings’ Pointer, Kanix Kroner At Sevenhills, who came through Group 7 under Janusz Opara, with second place awarded to Stuart Kennedy’s Weimaraner, Sh Ch Zilverein Straight No Chazer, a second runner-up spot this year after a similar placing at Swords.

Topping group 8 under Dermot Timmins was Michele Knapp’s English Springer Spaniel, Sh Ch & Int Ch Calvdale Carte Blanche, 4 year old ‘Becky’ with 21 green stars and winning her first group, while in second place under Dermot was Monica and Mags Boardman’s American Cocker Spaniel, Portsann Bling And Sparkle, 13 months old ‘Delta’ group 4 at the IKC Summer Show the previous week.

Des Kavanagh awarded top spot to Philomena and Paddy Leonard’s Shih Tzu, Nobel Merlot Poland, 10 months old ‘Alfie’, an import from Poland with, in second spot, Dolores McCann’s Tibetan Spaniel, Appalachee Brag-Srin-Mo; 5 year old ‘Sasha’ who has 2 CCs and 2 RCC’s was BIS at the Toy Ch show this year.

The BIS 4 winning Whippet, Lynda Cuthbert-Matthews and husband Colin’s Ch Courthill Catch A Shadow was Krystyna Opara’s group 10 winner, with second place awarded to Lynda’s Borzoi, Ch & Int Ch Donskoi Asmodey, ‘Louie’, the group winner at Bray and Sligo where he was BIS4, co-owned with Stephen Minogue who handled him.
