LIMERICK '15 BEST IN SHOW
Emma Archibald and her Golden Retriever Sh Ch Abinvale Mystic River were having a fabulous Munster Circuit – following her BIS at Clonmel, ‘Tegan’, owned and bred by Emma, her mum Bette and dad Frank, took the breed, group and BIS3 at Killarney, and now she took her second BIS, this time under Argentinian Carlos Saevich, at Limerick’s Woodlands Hotel venue in Adare. Carlos gave RBIS to Barry O’Neill’s multiple BIS-winning Basset Hound, ‘Arthur’, Ch, GB & Int Ch Knockogue Arthurs Legacy, who had earlier won his 75th group, surely history for his breed, and perhaps any breed, in Ireland.

LIMERICK '15 BEST BABY PUPPY IN SHOW
Carlos Saevich also judged best baby puppy in show, finding his winner in Heather Turner, Audrey MacDonald and Julia Alexander’s five-month-old Jack Russell Terrier Jarot Aim For The Top, a successful visit over from Scotland, with RBBPIS going to Bennett and Drewery’s five-month-old Italian Spinone Hochopepa Gladys Emmanuel.
LIMERICK '15 PUPPY STAKES
Well known terrier man Mick Gavin was in charge of the stakes classes at Limerick, starting with the puppy stakes where his winner was Rachel Pearce and Dave and Wendy Hughes’ Welsh Terrier Knowlelion Midnight Sky; ninemonth-old ‘Sky’ was PG2 at Bath and went on to G4 here at Limerick. Runner-up was Danielle Ritchie-Smith and grandad Albert Ritchie’s Whippet Play A While Before The Rain at Gwendariff, ‘Freya’ a Swedish import with already a GS under her belt and today taking her seventh placing in the stakes.
LIMERICK '15 CHAMPION STAKES
Mick Gavin’s champion stakes winner was Billy Henderson’s Dobermann Ch & GB Ch Tuwos Halestorm, six-year-old ‘Storm’ a top winner both at home and across the water, with second place awarded to Catherine and Tina Broaders’ Lakeland Terrier Ch Brookside Aristocrat, a Pup of the Year qualifier and group winner.
LIMERICK '15 VETERAN STAKES
Once again topping the veteran stakes and maintaining his position at the head of the Royal Canin/Irish Canine Press Veteran Leaderboard was Sally Tonks and Dione Fitzsimons’ Pyrenean Mountain Dog Ch, GB & Int Ch Shanlimore The Maverick. Mick Gavin awarded second place to Trevor Rodgers’ Japanese Shiba Inu Ch & GB Ch Jiltrain Jack The Lad, handled by Janine Dooner.
LIMERICK '15 BRACE STAKES
Mick Gavin’s brace stakes winner was Ann McDonald’s Giant Schnauzer pairing of Ch Velournoir Beau Garcon and Ch Velournoir Azazel Beg Ex, with second place awarded to Stuart Pearson and Caroline Dodds’ Dalmatians Kelevra What The Dickens and Kelevra Classic Cliché.
LIMERICK '15 TEAM STAKES
Heading the team stakes under Mick Gavin was Brian O’Sullivan’s team of Cocker Spaniels, handled by Brenda Rickard, with Jo Lamb and Bernard Saltmarsh’s team of Cairn Terriers in second place.

Jeff Luscott from England judged group 1, finding his winner in Colm and Rose Hastings’ Belgian imported Old English Sheepdog No One But Me aus dem Urstromtal at Raggletaggle, 14-month-old ‘Reva’ winning her fifth green star and first group, with runner-up to the Border Collie, Audrey MacDonald’s GB Sh Ch Locheil Ooh La La, ‘Lola’ with eight CCs and handled by Heather Turner.
LIMERICK '15 GROUP 2
Csaba Zsolt Lokodi, president of the famous Dracula Show, judged group 2, finding his winner in Triona Ní She’s Dobermann Ch, GB, Lux & Int Ch Farentino Wot A Thriller at Ruholfia, a prolific winner at home and abroad, with Michael Durcan and Janice Bermingham’s Boxer Ch Iso del Colle dell’Infinito runner-up, five-year-old ‘Iso’ the Boxer of the Year 2012.
LIMERICK '15 GROUP 3
Harold Quigg of the Irisblu Kerry Blues judged group 3, finding his winner in Shane O’Donnell’s Irish Terrier, Swedish import Merrymac You Will Make It; 15-month-old ‘Elmo’ was G3 at Clonmel and was today winning his sixth GS. Second was the Bull Terrier, Vida Velykyte and Agla Pakenaite’s Coxgal Muin Na Muice, 14-month-old ‘Phoebe’ bred in Ireland by Ger and Laura Cox.
LIMERICK '15 GROUP 4
Jose Romao Silva from Portugal judged group 4, and his winning Dachshund was the Smooth, Julie and Tony Emerson’s Pachego Dot Com, 13 month old ‘Leanna’ attending her first show, while Kerry and Katie Kelly took the runner-up rosette with their Miniature Wire Ch Tete-A-Tete Diervilla avec Kmai, handled by Mark McDonnell.
LIMERICK '15 GROUP 5
Joan Duffus of Samoyed fame was ring centre for group 5, giving the accolade to the well-known Siberian Husky, Jimmy Duggan’s ‘Flint’, Ch, GB & Int Ch Bedarra Cold Paws Warm Heart for Leorient, most recently RBIS at Coleraine and handled as ever by wife Anita. In second place was Olive Taylor’s Chow Ch Chivas Royal Djalo at Taylorian, RBIS at Killarney.
LIMERICK '15 GROUP 6
Una Rigney, well known for many years for her Arigna Kerries, was in charge of group 6 and found her winner in Barry O’Neill’s Basset Hound Ch, GB & Int Ch Knockogue Arthurs Legacy, later going on to RBIS, with Eddie and Gail Patterson’s Rhodesian Ridgeback Eilack Kimweri’s Binti by Rocksham in second place, ‘Binti’ taking a third group placing this year.
LIMERICK '15 GROUP 7
Svend Lovenkjaer from Denmark made the decisions in group 7 where his winner was Tom and Annie Mervyn’s German Shorthaired Pointer bitch Tomanipoint Schumacher, ‘Heidi’ the group winner at Hibernian in May and litter sister to ‘Rory’ who was BIS at Killarney. Second was Maura and Seamus Gettings’ German Wirehaired Pointer Ch, Sh Ch & Int Ch Kimmax Krystal Klear at Beechillawn, no stranger to top group performances.
LIMERICK '15 GROUP 8
It was the BIS-winning Golden Retriever, Emma, Bette and Frank Archibald’s Sh Ch Abinvale Mystic River, who was the group 8 winner under Belgian judge Ronny Bloom, with second place awarded to Mary and Des Murray’s Chesapeake Bay Retriever Sh Ch Riverrun Caution To The Wind, ‘Uisce’ with two CCs to her name.
LIMERICK '15 GROUP 9
Group 9 saw Adam Ostrowski from Poland ring centre again and he chose for his winner Sue Roberts’ Lhasa Apso Marbledale Perfection, en route to BIS3, with Ashling Connolly’s Bichon Frisé Ch & GB Ch Ashmair Double Act, BIS at Coleraine, runner-up.

Martin Sanders judged group 10 and his winner was Ivor and Michelle Keelan’s Afghan Hound Ch & GB Ch Nightwind Tejas Two Step, ‘Texas’ having recently gained his GB title, with Ann Cuthbert and Stephen Minogue’s top winning Borzoi Ch & Int Ch Donskoi Asmodey runner-up.
