LIMERICK '13 BEST IN SHOW
Brenda Banbury, who can count BIS at Crufts amongst her judging highlights, was the Best in Show judge, choosing Billy and Josh Henderson’s Dobermann Pinscher, Ch & GB Ch Tuwos Halestorm, to top the field at Limerick 2013; this was ‘Storm’s’ second BIS award inside a few days, following on from his win at Clonmel on Sunday. Taking the Reserve BIS award this time was Jeanette Filskov’s Golden Retriever, Danish Ch & Int Ch Abinvale Traguardo, bred here in Ireland by Emma, Bette and Frank Archibald and handled today by Emma.

Best Baby Puppy in Show at Limerick, chosen by Brenda Banbury, was Jim & Karen Gibson, Heidi Warren & Philip Palmer’s Weimaraner, Northwoods Applebees Money Talks at Zilverein, with RBBPIS going to Philomena and Paddy Leonard’s Shih Tzu, Plenard Wanna Be A Superstar, the winner at both Clonmel and Killarney.

Sharon O’Brien’s Tibetan Spaniel, Ch & GB Ch Rosanley The Adonis At Torfness, was Stephen Minogue’s selection in the Champion Stakes; Ron Farrelly’s Staffordshire Bull Terrier, Ch Ronstaff Show Dancer, was in the runner-up spot.

Stephen Minogue judged the Puppy Stakes where his winner was Liz Wogan’s 6 months old Keeshond puppy bitch, Neradmik Uptown Girl Deminiac, Liz now looking forward to a big night out at the POTY Finals next Easter; in second place came the Miniature Bull Terrier, Barri and Maud Orr’s Mamma Mia.
LIMERICK '13 VETERAN STAKES
Stephen Minogue’s Veteran Stakes winner’s rosette went to Una Rigney’s Kerry Blue Terrier, Ch & GB Ch Misty Blue Dawn At Arigna, maintaining her lead at the top of the ICP/ROYAL CANIN Veteran Leaderboard, with Seamus & Maura Gettings’ G.W.H.P. Abbotsbourne Piccadilly, on a first appearance in veteran, taking second place.
LIMERICK '13 BRACE STAKES
Topping the Brace Stakes under Stephen Minogue was Petra Erdman’s Irish Soft Coated Wheaten duo, Multi Ch Ballyhara’s Treasure From Tra Li and Multi Ch Ballyhara’s Jewel Of Tra, repeating their win on Sunday at Clonmel, with Bennett’s Italian Spinone, daughter and mother, Hochopepa Gold Jessenniaa At Mistyare and Testaverde Nella Foschia With Hochopepa, in second spot.

Stephen Minogue awarded the Team Stakes at Limerick to Attwood’s Welsh Springers, Kylowen Gyllyngvase, Kylowen Quillets and Moorash Lady Ygraine of Kylowen.

Swedish judge, Petra Junehall, judged Group 1, finding her winner in the eventual BIS 4 winning Old English Sheepdog, Colm & Rose Hastings’ Ch Lambluvs Sultry Secret, with the runner-up award going to Frances Toman’s Pembroke Welsh Corgi, Ch Whitepoint Stare If You Dare At Manto.

Making a welcome return to Ireland was Argentinian judge, Carlos Saevich, whose Group 2 winner, Billy and Josh Henderson’s Dobermann Pinscher, Ch & GB Ch Tuwos Halestorm, went on to Best in Show, David & Jackie Benson’s Bernese Mountain Dog, Ch & GB Ch Patrick De La Galea At Bernervalley, BIS winner at both South Tipperary and ILKA was in second place.

Annie Taylor’s 2 year old homebred Border Terrier, Ch Taylortay Howgate Wonder, was Tom Hehir’s choice to top Group 3, with Sean Knight’s Airedale Terrier, Ch & Int Ch Mynight Maid Of The Mist, in the runner-up spot.

Italian judge, Fabrizio LaRocca, judged Group 4 where his winner was the BIS 3 winner, Caroline & Peter Wheatland’s Smooth Haired Kaninchen Dachshund, Ch, Nu Ch, Ne Ch Sunlux Angel Heartbreaker At Pinedax, with Caroline Reynolds’ Miniature Smooth Haired, Ch Donnadoon Silver Dollar, in second place.

Topping Group 5 under Spanish All Breeds judge, Angel Garach Domech, was Maureen & Brian Carroll’s Keeshond, Ch Artic Kees Best Kept Secret, with second place going to the Pomeranian, Sean Carroll & James Newman’s Ch, GB & Int Ch Belliver The Ultimate Creation, ‘Victoria’ RBIS at both Clonmel and Killarney.

Taiwanese judge, Alex Zee awarded Group 6 at Limerick and he awarded top honours to the Basset Hound, Barry O’Neill’s Ch & GB Ch Knockogue Arthurs Legacy; taking the runner-up rosette in the group was Carol McEwan’s PBGV, GB Ch Maudaxi Tycoon Ginger From Marunnell.
LIMERICK '13 GROUP 7
Norwegian Judge Leif Ragnar Hjorth from Norway was centre ring for Group 7, selecting Trudy Walsh’s Irish Setter, Sh Ch Ardbraccan Obsession, handled by Stewart Cummins, with Sinead Taggart’s Hungarian Vizsla, Bitcon Card Tricks For Cooley, in second place.

The RBIS winning Golden Retriever, Jeanette Filskov’s Golden Retriever, Danish Ch & Int Ch Abinvale Traguardo, handled by co-breeder Emma Archibald, was Alex Zee’s Group 8 winner at Limerick, with second place going to Sandra and Roger Williams’ Cocker Spaniel, Manacas Here Comes The Sun For Wilmerella, on a regular return visit to the Circuit.

Angel Garech Domech judged Group 9 where his winner was the Bray RBIS winning Lhasa Apso, Eamon Keenan’s Ch Heneva Raising The Bets, handled this time by his sister, Eva,; runner-up under Angel was Patsy and Wilma McDevitt’s Long Coat Chihuahua, Ch X-Tra Special For Helena Of European Friendship, who was also the CC & BOB winner at Leeds.
LIMERICK '13 GROUP 10
Judging Group 10 was Tom Hehir who found his winner in the Irish Wolfhound, Willie and Joanne Mullen’s Ch Broughadowey Tir Eoghain, with second place awarded to Stephen Thomas' Whippet, Don Foran and Lynda Matthews’ 13 months old Ailesbury Silver Lace.
