The Stakes Classes at Killarney were in the capable hands of one of Ireland’s latest all-breeds judges, Colm Hastings. Colm’s choice to represent Killarney at the Combined Canine/Royal Canin Pup of the Year final next Easter was the Toy Poodle, Alice O’Reilly’s Tirkane Limited Edition, ten-month-old ‘Eddie’. Runner-up was Kevin and Lisa Croarkin’s 11-month-old French Bulldog Kingfriend Mr El Chapo.

Heading the Champion Stakes at Killarney under Colm Hastings was Sean Carroll and James Newman’s Papillon Ch, GB, Ger, Cz & Int Ch Hundebunen’s Juno Pondabudens, four-year-old ‘Juno’ the BIS winner at Monkstown. In second place was Gerry and Pauline Clarke’s Irish Wolfhound Ch Lady Rose of Shantamon.

Colm Hastings' Veteran stakes winner was Carla Bollard O'Callaghan’s Afghan Hound Ch, GB & Int Ch Ashahni Amir, ‘Caleb’ having an unforgettable day as he later went on to win BIS. Runner-up was Maxine Hydon’s eight-year-old English Springer Mompesson Sweet Revenge.

The Brace Stakes under Colm Hastings was won by the Dalmatian pairing of Kelevra Hudson Hawk and Kelevra Mercury Rising, owned by Carole Dodds and Stuart Pearson with second place taken by the Miniature Schnauzers, Maria Cockerham's Yakuza Heart On My Sleeve and Yakuza’s Crossfire.

The show was held in the grounds of the Pugin designed St. Mary's Cathederal Killarney which made for a stunning background for the show which attracted an entry 1,350 dogs.
