Visiting Finnish judge Saija Juutilainen had the honour of judging Best In Show, awarding the top spot to Carla Bollard O’Callaghan’s Afghan Hound Ch, GB & Int Ch Ashahni Amir. Taking RBIS under Saija was the Siberian Husky, Jimmy Duggan’s Leorient Flying Solo, handled by wife Anita.

KILLARNEY '16 PUPPY STAKES
The Stakes Classes at Killarney were in the capable hands of one of Ireland’s latest all-breeds judges, Colm Hastings. Colm’s choice to represent Killarney at the Combined Canine/Royal Canin Pup of the Year final next Easter was the Toy Poodle, Alice O’Reilly’s Tirkane Limited Edition, ten-month-old ‘Eddie’. Runner-up was Kevin and Lisa Croarkin’s 11-month-old French Bulldog Kingfriend Mr El Chapo.

KILLARNEY '16 CHAMPION STAKES
Heading the Champion Stakes at Killarney under Colm Hastings was Sean Carroll and James Newman’s Papillon Ch, GB, Ger, Cz & Int Ch Hundebunen’s Juno Pondabudens, four-year-old ‘Juno’ the BIS winner at Monkstown. In second place was Gerry and Pauline Clarke’s Irish Wolfhound Ch Lady Rose of Shantamon.

KILLARNEY '16 VETERAN STAKES
Colm Hastings' Veteran stakes winner was Carla Bollard O'Callaghan’s Afghan Hound Ch, GB & Int Ch Ashahni Amir, ‘Caleb’ having an unforgettable day as he later went on to win BIS. Runner-up was Maxine Hydon’s eight-year-old English Springer Mompesson Sweet Revenge.

KILLARNEY '16 BRACE STAKES
The Brace Stakes under Colm Hastings was won by the Dalmatian pairing of Kelevra Hudson Hawk and Kelevra Mercury Rising, owned by Carole Dodds and Stuart Pearson with second place taken by the Miniature Schnauzers, Maria Cockerham's Yakuza Heart On My Sleeve and Yakuza’s Crossfire.

Japanese judge Sumiko Ikeda judged Group 1 where her winner was Sarah Gibbons and Hayley Jones’ Australian Shepherd Austrian Dream Be Well Suited To Wispafete, ‘Ace’ with two CCs and one RCC at home in England. Runner-up was Damien McDonald’s Shetland Sheepdog Fearnach Bramble Abbey.

Paul Scanlon’s Group 2 winner was Karen Rice’s Great Dane GB Ch Santanna Moet And Chandon, ‘Chandon’ BOB winner at Crufts this year. Runner-up was the Newfoundland, Lyn and Terry Chapman's Merrybear D'Artagnan, handled by co-breeder Paddy Galvin.

Ross Delmar and Ewa Lunden's Smooth Fox Terrier Multi Ch Residensets Stand-In, who finished the day as BIS3, was Ann Long Doyle's Group 3 winner with Ger and Laura Cox's Miniature Bull Terrier Spitewinter Mentobe in second place.

KILLARNEY '16 GROUP 4
Topping the Dachshunds of Group 4 under Eva Nielsen from Sweden was Michael Crowley’s Smooth Ch Eleanors Surprise at Donnamarc, while second spot went to Dawn Norton’s Miniature Long GB Ch Halunke Dutch Affair, ‘Lisa’ clinching her Irish title today.

KILLARNEY '16 GROUP 5
Fiona Hurley’s Group 5 winner was the eventual RBIS-winning Siberian Husky Ch Leorient Flying Solo with second place to Maureen and Brian Carroll’s Keeshond Cedarhills-Shamrock Foreign Correspondent.

KILLARNEY '16 GROUP 6
Eamon Murray’s 14-month-old Beagle Annavah Leonardo De Vinci was Sean Knight’s Group 6 winner with Barry O’Neill’s Basset Hound Ch, GB & Int Ch Knockogue Arthurs Legacy, BIS at South Tipperary and ILKA this year, filling the runner-up slot.

KILLARNEY '16 GROUP 7
Taking his first group en route to BIS4 was Paudie and Martina O’Shea’s Irish Red and White Setter Sh Ch Mizen Adair with second place under Austin Long Doyle going to Tom and Annie Mervyn’s German Shorthaired Pointer Sh Ch Tomanipoint Celtic Knight, ‘Rory’ the BIS winner at Coleraine.

KILLARNEY '16 GROUP 8
Topping Group 8 under Margaret O’Gorman was Ruth Byers’ Golden Retriever Balibeau Jacqui O, ‘Freya’ taking her first group, with in second place Kerry Brennan’s Cocker Bencleuch Brilliantino at Kerrijoy, handled by Tommy Hamilton.

KILLARNEY '16 GROUP 9
Swedish judge, Lars Adeheimer, judged Group 9 awarding top spot to Tara Bagnall’s Bichon Frisé Ch Glenclor Voulez Vous, handled by Cliona Beattie. Runner-up was George and Georgina Corneille’s Tibetan Terrier Ch, Fin, Dan & Int Ch Falamandus One Kick Ahead with Lilasong.

The show was held in the grounds of the Pugin designed St. Mary's Cathederal Killarney which made for a stunning background for the show which attracted an entry 1,350 dogs.
