Its been a great circuit for Ann Ingram, Kay Ryan, Marlies Morzik, Lisa Nelson & Leanne Bryant’s Toy Poodle, Ch & GB Ch Tirkane the Big Issue, topping the first two shows on the Circuit at Clonmel and then Killarney under Julie Ireland from Australia. Andrea Stubbs and Mossy Lenihan’s Rottweiler, Ch Cotarinn Fright Night, handled by Jackie Stubbs, took the reserve rosette at Killarney.

Champion Stakes were judged by Chris Cathcart, his winner was Tom and Annie Mervyn’s German Short Haired Pointer, Sh Ch & Gb Sh Ch Karlivar Dusky Rose At Tomanipoint. In second place was Adele Kerrisk’s Shar Pei, Ch & Int Ch Chuanfa Compact At Qing Iverna.

Chris Cathcart’s Veteran Stakes winner was the Welsh Springer Spaniel, Baguley & Attwood’s Kylowen Gerrans, with Petra Erdmann’s ISCWT, Multi Ch Ballyhara’s Jewel Of Tara, taking second place.
KILLARNEY '14 BRACE STAKES
Chris Cathcart’s Brace Stakes winners were the Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever duo, Johnson & Westwood’s Alliance De La Vie So Fantastic with Tollyhimmel and Ch Littleriver’s Colonial Boy with Tullyhimmel, and second place were McNab’s Pointers, Querdon Quaver and Shanandi Dark Shadow of Querdon.

Chris Cathcart’s Team Stakes winners were Ceri McEwan’s PBGVs team Culdaw’s Diesle From Marunel, GB Ch Maudaxi Tycoon Ginger From Marunnel and Maudaxi Coco Chewnel From Marunnel, with second place going to Virginia Dowty’s Bolognese, Clynymona Jo I’m Alone, Chelsea Parker At Clarchien and Clynymona White Knight.

Helen Hegarty, well known secretary of Cork, was in charge in group 1 where she selected the Old English Sheepdog, Colm and Rose Hastings’ Ch Lambluvs Sultry Secret, who went on to BIS3. Runner-up was Frances Toman’s Pembroke Corgi Ch Whitepoint Stare If You Dare at Manto.

Pedro Delarue had travelled from Portugal to judge at both Clonmel and Killarney and in group 2 he chose the eventual RBIS-winning Rottweiler, Ch Cotarinn Fright Night, owned by Mossy Lenihan and Andrea Stubbs whose husband Jackie handles ‘Tyson’. Kieran O’Connell handled his Bullmastiff Ch Watercress Buffalo Bob to his third G2 this year.

Marie Claire Walsh made the decisions in group 3 and going to the top was Elaine Butler’s Soft-coated Wheaten Terrier Ballysax Bertys Dream, group winner at Cork earlier in the year. Second was Ann White’s Glen of Imaal Terrier Abberann Phelan, taking his first group placing of the year, handled by husband Nicky.
KILLARNEY '14 GROUP 4
Andre van den Broek, hound specialist from the Netherlands, judged all the Dachshunds and group 4 where his winner was Caroline Reynolds’ Miniature Smooth Ch Donnadoon Silver Dollar, winning his second group this year. Runner-up was Dawn Norton’s Miniature Long Kasanova V Desaro At Halunke.
KILLARNEY '14 GROUP 5
Bryan Hegarty was judging group 5 for the first time and chose Peri Burnside’s Alaskan Malamute Ch Libertia Reggae Master for the red rosette, his second of the week as he also won at Clonmel, but this time Marley was handled by Katie McDonnell to make his score up to five groups with four seconds. Anita Duggan handled husband Jimmy’s Siberian Husky Ch/GB/Int Ch Bedarra Cold Paws Warm Heart for Leorient to take second spot.
KILLARNEY '14 GROUP 6
Wal Westren, an ‘import’ from Australia many years ago, was overseeing group 6, and his winner was the Basset Hound, Barry O’Neill’s Ch/GB/Int Ch Knockogue Arthurs Legacy, ‘Arthur’ taking his eighth group of the year and he was BIS at Combined Canine and Fermoy internationals and Deise and is currently top of the group 6 ICP/Royal Canin Leaderboard. Second was Margo and Norman Webster’s Dalmatian Ch Tamilanda Pink Addition to Dalmarno, who also has two G4 and one G3 placing this year.

Robert Harbin from Australia was ring centre for group 7 where the winner was Sinead Taggart’s Hungarian Vizsla Sh Ch/GB Sh Ch Bitcon Card Tricks for Cooley, ‘Rafa’ en route to BIS4. Collette and Roger Perkins’ Pointer Kanix Fate of Brent, over from GB for the week, took second
KILLARNEY '14 GROUP 8
Cross channel visitor Jane Eyeington handled her and husband Steve’s English Springer Spaniel GB Sh Ch Meadowdale Chaos to move up a place from Clonmel and take group 8 under Ronnie Tolson, who gave the second place rosette to Catherine Halpin’s Welsh Springer Spaniel Moonlone Travelling Man, also moving up a place from the previous show.

Patsy McDevitt, well known for his Keenaughts Chihuahuas, was judging group 9 where he found his winner in the Toy Poodle Ch & GB Ch Tirkane the Big Issue, ‘Izak’. BIS at Clonmel just two days earlier, and on course for his second successive best, piloted by co-owner and breeder Ann Ingram. Runner-up was the Lhasa Apso Ch Lindberg Celtic Lady Senghem, owned by the O’Kanes, talking her first group placing of the year.

Kevin Maye, fresh from winning the puppy stakes at Clonmel with his young Stafford, was making his debut judging group 10, finding his winner in Ivor and Michelle Keelan’s Afghan Hound Nightwing Take It All at Tejas, his first group placing of the year, with Lynda Matthews, Don Foran and Stephen Thomas’ Whippet Ailesbury Fire Heart, also taking his first placing, second.
