Group 1 was won by the Cardigan Corgi, Ch & GB Ch Gowerston Jigsaw, handled by Mark McDonnell, who owns her with his Mum, this group judged by Australian visitor, Max Winch, who gave 2nd to Gordon Bridges Australian Shepherd Dog, Kiskarn Secretly Loves You, at his first show in Ireland and handled by Dermot Dunne.

Nellie Abela from Australia judged Group 2 and her winner here was Ivan McClean’s Black Russian Terrier, Ch Free Choice Czarevich Gosha, handled by John McCreevy. Taking the second spot was Brenda Groves and Steve Hare’s Boxer, Winuwuk Wonderful World at Jimbren, handled by Richard Maeer.

Hugh and Angela Jordan’s Kerry Blue Terrier bitch, Ch Miculadh Moondance at Shillelagh, took Group 3 under Australian judge, John Thompsonwhile Clifford and Eileen Aiken’s Scottish Terrier, Ch Slievecroob Scotch Heather Jun Ch, took 2nd; handled by their son, Christopher.

John Thompson judged all the Dachshunds and also their Group 4 where he found his winner in Martin McDonnell’s Miniature Long Haired, Smartdac Supernatural, while Group 2nd was Liz and Nigel Bate’s Miniature Smooth Haired, Red Promise for Batendach.

Aussie Max Winch judged Group 5 where he chose for his winner the American Akita, Craig Bannon, Niamh Carroll and breeder K Asling’s Am Ch Hoka Hey’s the Power and The Glory, with Louise Paterson’s Swedish Vallhund, Eriksfjord Magik Bean Jun Ch.

Claire Anne Ahern judged Group 6, sending on ‘Arthur’, the eventual BIS winning Basset Hound, Barry O’Neill and Sandra Stack’s Ch & GB Ch Knockogue Arthurs Legacy. Jane Anthony handled her Rhodesian Ridgeback, Ch Int Ch Rottzridge Walk The Walk, owned in partnership with husband, Geordie, to take 2nd place.

Lyn Brand from Australia judged Group 7 and her winner was Michael Kenneally and Mairead Jones’ Weimaraner, Sh Ch & Int Ch Zilverein Wanda Rinn to Minima Jun Ch, a previous group winner and Annual Champion in both 2010 and 2011.Second was Wendy Fleming’s young Pointer, Carmandine Kimono of Glenariff, who had earlier taken BOB from Junior bitch.

Group 8 winner under Lyn Brand was Joe Caulfield and Joanne Furlong’s Irish Water Spaniel, Sh Ch & Int Ch Fynder On Shifting Ground, who was collecting his fourth group this year, with Ralph Dunne’s young imported Clumber Spaniel bitch, Bimbiks Graziella for Richley, group 4 at Cork, taking runner-up.

Catherine Rooney judged Group 9, her winner being James Newman’s top winning Papillon, Ch, GB, Ger, Slov & Int Ch Denemore Iconsruben, bred in partnership Séan Carroll. ‘Ruben’ was IKC Dog of the Year ’11. Yvonne Cannon’s Shih Tzu, homebred Ch Cloughlea Dare To Believe, at 19 months old, was taking her first Ch Group 2nd.
