Winning Best in Show at ILKA 2015 under Pia was Andrea Stubbs and Mossy Lenihan’s Rottweiler, Ch Cotarrin Fright Night, bred by Andrea and husband Jackie, who handled him to BIS; this was ‘Tyson’s’ first such award after RBIS wins last year at both Killarney and Limerick, adding to his 2 CCs across the water. Reserve BIS at ILKA under Pia was Orlagh Murray’s homebred Golden Retriever, Sh Ch Rathcloon Peaches N Cream, 4 year old ‘Tori’ the Fermoy International winner, and this award today taking her up to third place on the GAIN PETFOODS/Irish Canine Press/Dog World Group 8 Winners Leaderboard.

Topping the Champions was the Siberian Husky, Jimmy Duggan’s Siberian Husky, Ch, GB & Int Ch Bedarra Cold Paws Warm Heart For Leorient; ‘Flint’, handled by wife Anita, was RBIS at Munster Canine and Deise this year. Stephanie and Fiona Robertson and Stephen O’Brien’s Whippet, Ch Sheol Golden Child, was in second place.

ILKA '15 VETERAN STAKES
Mary Downward’s 10 years old English Springer Spaniel, GB Sh Ch Reubens Silent Reflection, the Munster Canine winner, again took the Veteran Stakes, this time at ILKA under Lyn Appleby whose second place went to the Cogill family’s 11 year old Afghan Hound, Birkhall Annabel.

The BIS 3 winning Australian Shepherd Dog, Sarah McCusker and Clare O’Prey’s Scallywag Stars N Stripes, was Simon Rooney’s Group 1 winner with Emilio Castillo and Patrick Fortune’s newly crowned Shetland Sheepdog, Ch & Can Ch Grandgables Romantica, runner-up.

Maura Gettings’ Group 2 winner was the Rottweiler, Andrea Stubbs and Maurice Lenihan’s Ch Cotarrin Fright Night who then went on to Best in Show; Paul Scanlon & Ashling Connolly’s Miniature Schnauzer, Ch Nujax Johnny Cash, group winner at Hibernian and currently in second place on the GAIN PETFOODS/Irish Canine Press/Dog World Group 2 Winners Leaderboard, was runner-up.

Paul Martin judged Group 3 where his winner was the Staffordshire Bull Terrier, Melanie Corcoran’s Ch, GB & Int Ch Zakstaff Whats The Story At Molru, 4 year old ‘Rory’ with a first group win this year; runner-up was the Kerry Blue Terrier, Richard Dalton, Philip O’Brien & Jarka Poulova’s Ch & GB Ch Dalstar Il Divo, BIS at Fermoy International and BIS 4 at South Tipperary.

Liz Bate’s Group 4 winner’s rosette went to the Smooth Haired Kaninchen, Karen Weir’s Ch Majik Rainbow Gloria, the group winner already this year at Banbridge, South Tipperary and Hibernian with the Miniature Wire Haired, Benita Morrison’s Stargang Dusky Maiden To Benzden, with a first group placing this year, in second.

Paul McCulloch judged Group 5 awarding the group to the Keeshond, Liz Wogan’s Ch & GB Ch Neradmik Beach Boy Avec Deminiac, the BIS 3 winner at Newtownards in May, with second place awarded to Jimmy Duggan’s Siberian Husky, Ch, GB & Int Ch Bedarra Cold Paws Warm Heart For Leorient, today’s Champion Stakes winner.

ILKA '15 GROUP 6
Mary Mulvaney’s Group 6 winner was Barry O’Neill’s Basset Hound, Ch, GB & Int Ch Knockogue Arthurs Legacy, ‘Arthur’ today taking his 10th group win of the year, with second place awarded to the Rhodesian Ridgeback, Eddie & Gail Patterson’s Ch Rocksham Kimweri, his sixth group placing this year.

Joyce Ruigrok’s Group 7 winner was the Irish Setter, Stuart Cummings and Karen McKelvey’s Edenavey’s The One And Only, a first group win for 4 year old ‘Barney’ who also has a RCC won at Belfast last year. Catherine Kelly’s Hungarian Vizsla, 4 year old Ch, Mtegro Ch Risley Poetry in Motion, handled by Scarlett Burnside, was runner-up.

Orlagh Murray’s RBIS winning Golden Retriever, Sh Ch Rathcloon Peaches N Cream, was Joyce Ruigrok’s Group 8 winner with the Clumber Spaniel, Ralph Dunne’s Sh Ch Richley Royale Bond, group winner at Hibernian and Kilkenny and the current leader on the GAIN PETFOODS/Irish Canine Press/Dog World Group 8 Leaderboard, in second place.
