On the second day of the International weekend the Best in Show judge was Joy O’Connor. Her choice was the Irish Wolfhound, Joanne and Willie Mullen’s Ch & GB Ch Broughadowey Tir Eoghain. Reserve BIS went to the Shetland Sheepdog, Emilio Castillo and Patrick Fortune's, Ch Navarrem Fortune Lady. IKC INTERNATIONAL '14 DAY 2 BEST BABY PUPPY IN SHOW
Joy O’Connor chose the dainty four months old Toy Poodle, Nasailleen Scandalous with Tirkane, handled by Marlies Morzik for owners Ann Ingram, Kay Ryan, Lisa Nelson and Leanne Bryant, for her Best Baby Puppy in Show from all the BBP in Breed. Runner-up was Barry O’Neill’s Basset Hound baby, Diheath Charlies Angel.

Susan Kealy, was in charge of all the Stakes and also Best Puppy and Veteran in Show. For her Puppy, she chose her winner in Amanda Sammon’s Japanese Shiba Inu, homebred Steinark Little Star, 7 months old, and now with a much sought after ticket to the POTY finals. Runner-up was the Lakeland Terrier, Tina and Catherine Broaders’ Brookside Aristocrat.

Best Veteran in Show under Susan Kealy was the Wire Fox Terrier, Tina and Catherine Broaders’ Ch & Int Ch Crystalwire Solo of Brookside, with Janice Bannister’s Japanese Shiba Inu, Ch & GB Ch Janeryls In The Line Of Fire runner-up.

Topping the Champion Stakes under Susan Kealy was the St Bernard, Austin and Ann Long Doyle’s Ch, Int & Lux Ch Il Divo Roly by Longsdyle. Runner up was Sinead Taggart’s French Bulldog, GB Ch Siboveld’s San Diego at Hetna, owned with Matt Holmes, and on his debut in Ireland.

Winner of the Junior Stakes under Susan Kealy, was Joan Duffus’ Samoyed, 11 month old Russian import, Radost Zhizni Arctic Light over Kynoch, with Catherina Dunne’s 12 months old Shetland Sheepdog, Odessa Z Paunochnaga runnerup.

Group 1 today was judged by Ferdinando Asnaghi whose winner was Emilio Castillo and Patrick Fortune’s Shetland Sheepdog, Ch Navarrem Fortune Lady, the RBIS winner later in the day, with second place going to Joan and Brian Lyon’s Schipperke, Ch Twynbears Black Myson.

Irish judge, Rosemary Daly-Meehan officiated Group 2, sending forward Michael Durcan and Janice Bermingham’s 3 year old Boxer, Iso Del Collie Dell’Infinito. In second place was Michelle Leeper Nevin’s 4 year old Blue Great Dane, the Multi Ch Capora Atlantis At Leevindane.

Michael Clancy replaced Steven Seymour to judge the terriers in Group 3, resulting in the BIS winning Miniature Bull Terrier from day 1 and also the Bull Terrier, doing a lap of honour because of their owners/handlers’ close association with Michael, both being on the Limerick committee. He sent forward the BIS 3 winner, Richard Dalton, Philip O’Brien and Jarka Poulova’s Kerry Blue, Ch Dalstar Il Divo, handled to victory by Philip with second place awarded to Elaine Butler’s CC winning Irish Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier, Ch Ballysax Bremner.

Topping the Dachshunds in Group 4 under Zeferino Silva was Caroline Reynolds’ Miniature Smooth, Ch Donnadoon Silver Dollar, who went on to BIS 4, with Karen Weir’s Smooth Haired Kaninchen, Magik Rainbow Gloria in second spot.

Peri Burnside’s Alaskan Malamute, Ch Libertia Reggae Master, was Jelena Kruss’ Group 5 winner, handled as usual by son Adam. Jimmy Duggan’s Siberian Husky, Ch, Gb & Int Ch Bedarra Cold Paws Warm Heart For Leorient, handled by wife Anita was in second place.

Well known Dachshund exhibitor, Seamus Dunne, was centre ring for Group 6 where his winner was Eddie and Gail Patterson’s Rhodesian Ridgeback, Ch Rocksham Kimweri. In second place came Barry O’Neill’s Basset Hound, Ch, Gb Ch CIE, Knockogue Arthurs Legacy.

In charge of Group 7 was Stuart Falk Rudiger, choosing Tom and Annie Mervyn’s German Short Haired Pointer, Sh Ch & GB Sh Ch Karlivar Dusky Rose At Tomanipoint, while in second spot was Sheila Hughes’ Irish Setter, Clannrua Beckett At Cloonminda.

Polish judge, Malgorzata Wieremiejczyk, judged Group 8 where her winner was Catherine Halpin’s Welsh Springer Spaniel, Sh Ch Moonlone Travelling Man. Taking second place in the group was Jeanette Filskov and Emma Archibald’s Golden Retriever, Sh Ch, GB Sh Ch, DK & Int Ch Abinvale Traguardo, ‘Blue’ the RBIS winner from the previous day.

Heading up Group 9 under Mona Selbach was Philip Carthy’s Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, Orinoco So You Think At Ardgrove, with Sharon O’Brien’s Tibetan Spaniel, Ch & GB Ch Rosanley The Adonis At Torfness in second place.

Tino Pehar today judged Group 10 where his winner was the eventual BIS winning Irish Wolfhound, Ch GB Ch & Int Ch Broughadowey Tir Eoghain, ‘Cooper’ owned and bred by Willie & Joanne Mullen, and Lucinda Thompson’s Whippet, Barnesmore Peaches ‘N’ Cream, bred by her sister Margaret, ‘Abbey’ taking second place.
