Best in Show judge, Noreen Clark, selected the German Shepherd Dog, Ch Feebroithe Canto, owned by Michael Heenan and Theresa McMahon as her Best In Show. Three-year-old ‘Canto’ was bred by Seamus Brophy, his handler, and Marie Feehily. He has nine green stars and has previously been shortlisted and group placed. Reserve BIS was Ann Cuthbert and Stephen Minogue’s Borzoi Ch & Int Ch Donskoi Asmodey, handled in the breed by Stephen but in the group and BIS by Lynda Cuthbert Matthews. ‘Louis’, top Borzoi since 2010, is no stranger to top honours.

Anita Foley Duggan handled her husband Jimmy’s Siberian Husky Leorient What Goes Around to win best baby puppy in show under Noreen Clarke. Five and-a-half-month-old ‘Karma’ was at her first show. Runner-up was Dione Fitzsimons’ Dobermann Sant Kreal Hugo Boss Iz Fitzkin, just four and a half months old. ‘Hugo’ is already a winner as he was BBPIS at Mayo open show.

Best puppy in show, judged by BIS judge Noreen Clarke, was the Golden Retriever, Kerrie and Katie Kelly’s Fairfield Florencia for Zenevieve, with reserve to Orlaith Keenan’s Medium Poodle Sleepybrook Licence To Kill.

Noreen Clarke also judged best veteran in show, from the BVs declared in each breed, and top honour fell to the Whippet, Pamela and Ryan Hunter’s Ch, GB & Int Ch Mossbawnhill It’s All About Me, currently top of the ICP/Royal Canin Veteran Leaderboard, and runner-up Veteran of the Year in ‘15. Runner-up here was the Kaninchen Wire Dachshund, Ian, Marion and Tim Finney’s Ch & Int Ch Nice One from Vitoraz at Gulliagh.

FERMOY INTERNATIONAL '16 CHAMPION STAKES
Colm Beattie, who had a busy day ahead with all the stakes and also the puppy groups, gave his champion stakes rosette to Oliver Noonan’s Japanese Chin Ch, Dan & Sw Ch Roseheavens Fabian’s Perfect Touch, who was top toy in Denmark in 2015, and will now compete for the Champion of Champions 2016, early next year. ‘Fazi’, since arriving from Denmark, has attended five shows and has won four green stars. Zita and Brian Fogarty’s Afghan Hound Ch Drishaun Aint Life Grand was in second place.

Junior stakes winner under Colm Beattie was the English Setter Quensha Roll With It, owned by Anthony Allen and Emma Archibald, who handled him here at his second show after arriving in Ireland. Just 12 months old, ‘Parker’ also won his second GS and took BOB. Runner-up was Paul Stacey’s Dalmatian Dalmino Keep Cool at Reignbows; 16-month-old ‘Kobi’ was BIS at Cork open, and has four GS.

Runner-up was the Old English Sheepdog, recently returned from her native land of the US, Colm and Rose Hastings’ Ch, GB & Am Ch Lambluvs Sultry Secret; ‘Vicky’ had returned to her breeders Jere Marder, Gail Radke and Jeff Yutzy and won her American title.

The Irish Wolfhound, Petra Tomasovicova’s Jacaranda Roan Inish, was runner-up.
