DUBLIN '14 BEST IN SHOW
At the last show of 2014, BIS at Dublin Dog Show Society was Ann Ingram & Kay Ryan’st Toy Poodle, Tirkane La Vie En Rose, a wonderful end to the year for owner breeders Ann and Kay as they, in partnership with her co owners Marlies Morzik, Lisa Nelson & Leanne Bryant, had also clinched the title of IKC Dog of the Year 2014 with their Ch & GB Ch Tirkane The Big Issue - bringing to a close a fantastic year for the Tirkane kennel. Reserve BIS went to Séan Carroll and nephew, James Newman’s, Pomeranian, Sueacres Unexpected Kisses. The show was sponsored by Happy Dog, represented by in the photograph by Jackie Stubbs with DDSS Secretary, Rita McCarry-Beattie also pictured.

Heading up Group 1 under Paul Lawless was the eventual BIS 4 winner, Allan, Harlow and Douglas’ Australian Shepherd Dog, Ch & Am Gr Ch Bayshore Stonehaven Cat Burglar, with runner-up to Damien McDonald’s Shetland Sheepdog, Delgallo The Show Must Go On At Fernach, taking a first group spot.

Paul Lawless was centre ring for Group 2, finding his winner in Rose Dooley’s newly crowned Great Dane, Ballyfrawley Poker Face, with the Bulldog, Scully’s Ch Ocobo Jawdropper of Sardav, in second place
DUBLIN '14 GROUP 3
It was the BIS 3 winning Smooth Fox Terrier, Ross Delmar and Ewa Lunden’s Swedish, Norwegian, Danish CIB Ch Residensets Stand, who topped Group 3 under Yvonne Cannon; keeping up the foreign theme in the terriers, second placed was the Hungarian Kerry Blue, Una Rigney and Tatjine Burovincz’s Hun Ch Dinnyesvarosi Nirvana.

The Dachshund Group was judged by Jimmy Byrnes, his winner was Moore’s Russian import Miniature Long Haired, Zhemchuzhina Peterburga Rock-N-Roll, taking a first group win, with second place awarded to Benita Morrison’s Miniature Wire, Benzden Prada.

Vincent O’Brien’s Group 5 winner was Sean Carroll & James Newman’s Pomeranian, Sueacres Unexpected Kisses, which went on to Reserve BIS later in the day; in second place under Vincent was Jimmy Duggan’s BIS winning Siberian Husky, Ch, GB & Int Ch Bedarra Cold Paws Warm Heart For Leorient, handled by Anita and confirming his place at the top of the ICP/ROYAL CANIN Group 5 Leaderboard.

Winning his 12th all breeds group 6 in 2014, this time under Ger Cox, was Barry O’Neill’s Basset Hound, Ch, GB Ch, CIE, Knockogue Arthurs Legacy, with second place going to Louisa and Eddie Casey’s Dalmatian, Ch Buffrey Pop Goes The Weasel.

Stuart Cummings’ Group 7 winner was Tom and Annie Mervyn’s German Short Haired Pointer, Sh Ch, GB Sh Ch Karlivar Dusky Rose At Tomanipoint, with Perkins’ Pointer, Kanix Fate of Brent, awarded second spot.

Stuart Cummings judged Group 8, finding his winner in Catherine Halpin’s Welsh Springer Spaniel, Sh Ch Moonlone Travelling Man, with second place awarded to Ward’s American Cocker Spaniel, Sh Ch Mischtikals Jorga On My Mind.

It was UK Toy specialist Richard Haynes who was ring centre for Group 9, sending through the eventual BIS winner, Ann Ingram, Kay Ryan, Marlies Morzik, Lisa Nelson & Leanne Bryant’s Toy Poodle, Tirkane La Vie En Rose; taking second spot under Richard was Ashling Connolly’s Bichon Frise, Ch & GB Ch Ashmair Double Act, these final group points clinching ‘Beau’s’ place at the head of the ICP/ROYAL CANIN Group 9 Leaderboard for 2014

Topping Group 10 under Laura Cox was Zita and Brian Fogarty’s Afghan Hound, Ch Drishaun Ain't Life Grand. Gerry Clarke handled Kathleen Kelly’s Irish Wolfhound, Fear Of Nutstown, into second place.
