Best Puppy in Show under Chris Hancock, selected from the ten winners sent through by Maudie Burke who had judged the puppy groups, was the Labrador Retriever, Martin and Mary O’Donoghue’s Philipstown Brygit Jnes, runner-up was Aidan McKiernan’s English Setter, Bushbane Celtic Prayer.

Best Veteran in Show under Chris Hancock at Celtic Winners International show was Carla Bollard O’Callaghan’s Afghan Hound, Ch, GB & IntChAshahni Amir, 8 year old ‘Caleb’ having received his crystal presentation the previous day in recognition of Veteran of the Year 2016 0n the Royal Canin/Irish Canine Press Veteran Leaderboard. In second place was Marion, Tim and Ian Finney’s Wire Haired Kaninchen Dachshund, Ch Nice One From Vitoraz To Gulliagh, runner-up on the 2016 Veteran Leaderboard.

Judging the Stakes at Celtic Winners International was Marie Thorpe and heading up the Champion Stakes was Virginia Dowty and Kathryn Beggs’ Bolognese, Ch Little White Wonder Othello Matteo, handled by Adam Davidson. In second place was Aidan McKiernan’s English Setter, GB Sh Ch Richecca Breaking Dawn.

Heading up the Dachshunds of Group 4 was Gerry McFaul’s Standard Long Haired, Ch Shardaroba’s Fashion Flow at Dachville, with Karen Weir’s Smooth Haired Kaninchen, Ch & Neths Ch Magik Rainbow Gloria, in 2nd place.

Brian and Maureen Carroll’s Keeshond, Ch & Int Ch Lyntova Legend Has It, collected the top rosette in Group 5 under Mick Gavin, with Anita Foley Duggan handling husband Jimmy’s Siberian Husky, Ch Leorient Flying Solo in second place.
