Mike Drennan judged the Brace Stakes and his winners were the Afghan Hounds, Carla Bollard O’Callaghan’s Ch GB & Int Ch Ashahni Amir and Ashahni Celtic Fire. In the runner-up spot were the Cocker Spaniel’s Sh Ch Chavez Gaelic Connection at Forestpine and Forestpine A Real Dream to Behold, owned by Rev Brian O’Sullivan; Cindy & Gypsy and handled as ever by Brenda Rickard.

Awarded second place was the Douglas, Allan, and Harlow partnership’s Australian Shepherd Dog, Ch & Am Gr Ch Bayshore Stonehaven Cat Burglar; ‘Prowler’, handled by Tracey Douglas.

The globetrotting All Breeds judge, Michael Forte, was centre ring for Group 2, sending forward the eventual RBIS winner, Willie and Mandy Dobbin’s Newfoundland, Ch, GB & DK Ch Brooklynbear Nijinsky, with Ann McDonald’s 12 months old Giant Schnauzer, Velournoir Beau Garcon, starting the year off in great style with second spot in this large group.

It was the Best in Show winning Miniature Bull Terrier, Ch, GB & Multi Int Ch Grasco’s Honky Tonky who progressed from Group 3 under yet another of Ireland’s All Breed judges, Anthony Kelly, whose choice for second place fell to Marianne Dunne’s Jack Russell Terrier, Ch Krisbos Franklin.
