Patricia (Patsy) Lawlor, well known secretary of Killarney CC, was ring centre for best in show and she made the day for Cathy Loughlin when she gave the big rosette to her homebred Irish Setter Sh Ch Rohanmor Jorja On My Mind, taking her first group en route to the top spot. Reserve BIS was the Pomeranian, Sean Carroll and James Newman’s homebred Belliver Kiss The Stars, at 11 months old already assuming the mantle of the latest Belliver star.

Stephen Hourihan was in charge of all the stakes at Cork and his Puppy Stakes winner was Jimmy Duggan’s Siberian Husky Leorient What Goes Around, handled by wife Anita. Runner-up was the Toy Poodle, Alice O’Reilly’s Tirkane Limited Edition.

Heading the Champion Stakes was Billy Henderson and Ciaran and Ann Marie Donnelly’s Dobermann Ch & GB Ch Tuwos Hrana. In second place was Jennifer Kealy’s Soft-coated Wheaten Terrier Ch Dalstar Giselle.

Topping the Veteran Stakes under Stephen Hourihan was the Kaninchen Wire Dachshund Ch & Int Ch Nice One from Vitoraz to Gulliagh, currently topping the Irish Canine Press/Royal Canin Veteran Leaderboard, owned by Marion, Tim and Ian Finney. Runner-up was Kerry Frost’s Norwegian Buhund Ch Frostisen Winalot.

The Brace Stakes judged by Stephen Hourihan was won by Mervyn and Ann Webb’s Shetland Sheepdogs Milesend Set The Trend and Daisyway Skyrock of Milesend.

Saija Juutilainen from Finland judged Group 1 where her winner, Paul, Jean and Kelly Lawless’ Groenendael, Ch, GB & Dutch Ch Revloch Figo, went on to BIS3. In second place was Catriona O’Neill’s Border Collie Sh Ch Huntly I Ain’t No Panda.

Paula Heikkinen-Lehkonen from Finland was centre ring for Group 2, awarding top honours to Tony Winston and Paula Thornton’s Boxer Benton Track Back. Second place went to Gary Sales and Paul and Marie Wilson’s Dogue de Bordeaux Redoak One Step Beyond.

Paula Heikkinen-Lehkonen judged Group 3, selecting as her winner Tina and Catherine Broaders’ Lakeland Terrier, Ch Brookside Aristocrat. Runner-up was Patrick and Janine Dooner’s Parson Russell Terrier Ch Foxthorn Tomahawk.

Saija Juutilainen took on the Dachshunds in Group 4 where her winner was Mark McDonnell’s Miniature Longhaired Ch Smartdac Rising Phoenix. Runner-up was Karen Weir’s Kaninchen Smooth Ch Magik Rainbow Gloria.

Stephen Minogue’s Group 5 winner, Sean Carroll and James Newman’s Pomeranian Belliver Kiss The Stars, went on to RBIS, while his runner-up rosette went to Theresa McKittrick’s Norwegian Elkhound Ch Graythor Norwegian Fantasy at Cnocanoir.

Norwegian judge Aase Jakobse took on Group 6, finding her winner in the Bermingham family’s Dalmatian Ch Kiki Dee The Astonishing at Lornlee, handled by mum Martina. Second spot was taken by Eddie and Gail Patterson’s Rhodesian Ridgeback Ch, GB & Int Ch Rocksham Kimweri.

Aase Jakobsen judged Group 7, sending through the eventual best in show winner, Cathy Loughlin’s Irish Setter Sh Ch Rohanmor Jorja On My Mind. Runner-up was the Weimaraner, Doyle and Rzyman’s Zilverein Misty Over The Meadow.

Ciara Byrne handled her Golden Retriever Sh Ch & Int Ch Zenevieva Mister Bojangles for Whistler, to win group 8 under Paula Heikkinen-Lehkonen, with Niamh and Dave Callaghan’s Labrador Retriever Sh Ch Claychalk Costa Zaire of Bannabeach runner-up.

Group 9 was judged by Cristabel Alford and her red rosette went to Ashling Connolly’s Bichon Frisé Ashmair Celtic Charm. Runner-up was the Papillon, Sean Carroll and James Newman’s Ch, Cz & Ger Ch Hundenbuden’s Juno Pondabudens.

Maureen Wade was running the rule over the sighthounds of Group 10, finding her winner in the Irish Wolfhound, Gerry and Pauline Clarke’s Ch Lady Rose of Shantamon, on her way to BIS4. Runner-up was the Afghan Hound, Mary Mulvaney, Lyn Appleby, John Minchin and Jane Edwards’ Ch Davashey To Tell The Truth.
