Best in Show judge was Gerry McFaul. From the ten group finalists, he awarded Best in Show to the Chow Chow, Olive Taylor’s Ch & GB Ch Chivas Royal Djalo At Taylorian.
Reserve Best in Show was the Kerry Blue Terrier, Ch & Am Ch Melbees Great Expectations For Irisblu, owned by Mark McGonagle and Harold Quigg, who handled him.

Margaret Martin was the Stakes judge where her Puppy Stakes winner, qualifying for the Combined Canine/Royal Canin POTY Final was Timothy, Marion & Ian Finney’s Irish Wolfhound, Isnalera Gimme Shelter At Gulliagh,
with second place awarded to the Afghan Hound, Lyn Appleby, John Minchin, Jayne Edwards and Mary Mulvaney’s Afghan Hound, Affietar Glen Isla.

Margaret Martin’s Junior Stakes winner was Catherina Caffrey’s Weimaraner, Weidovan Clover Mystique,
with the runner-up slot filled by Sue Roberts’ Lhasa Apso, Marbledale Mamba.

Topping the Veteran Stakes at Coleraine under Margaret Martin was Martin Bailey and Jennifer Duggan’s OES, Ch & Int Ch Dromtrasna Jack At Guapo,
with Darren and Elaine Walker’s Alaskan Malamute, Ch & Int Ch Lueldar A Little Patience, in second place.

runner-up was Jimmy Duggan’s Siberian Husky, Ch Leorient Flying Solo.

Topping Group 9 under Lindy Watton was Sean & Sally Burns and Mary & Val Coghlan’s Standard Poodle, Ch Dinastii The Libertine Afterglow.
In second place was Sean Carroll and James Newman’s Papillon, Multi Ch Expana's Sea Dragon Conqueror, handled by James.

Sean Burns celebrated his ‘big 40’ on the day and a surprise party was thrown for him, with wife Sally, the ringleader. Sean had als had a nice birthday present earlier when he collected the red group rosette for their Standard Poodle, ‘Bert’ with whom Sean has enjoyed many wins including BIS. A popular exhibitor, he obviously enjoyed his day both inside and outside the ring.

Mandy Dobbin, wife of Coleraine’s Chairman, Willie now traditionally bakes and brings along to their show a ‘Coleraine’ cake – and if anyone has been unfortunate enough not to have tasted Mandy’s baking, look out for the cake next year as you are in for a really delicious treat.
