Topping the Champion Stakes under Dave Lawlor was George and Georgina Corneille’s Tibetan Terrier, Ch & Int Ch Falamandus New Name For Lilasong. Runner-up under Dave was Carmel Clarke O’Neill’s Kerry Blue Terrier, Ch Lemracdream The Navigator.

CLONMEL '14 GROUP 1
Topping group 1 under Jill Ireland from Australia was the Pembroke Corgi, Frances Toman’s Ch Whitepoint Stare If You Dare at Manto. Second went to John and Carol Mulcahy’s Rough Collie bitch Aus Ch Kazjs Dancin Inthestars, an import from Australia who came to Ireland with the Mulcahys when they settled here last year.

CLONMEL '14 GROUP 2
Group 2 was judged by Ricardo Torre Simoes from Brazil and his choice was John Francis’ Boxer Ch Rathbride Final Fantasy, a first group win this year in Ireland. The BIS-winning Dobermann bitch Ch/GB Ch Tuwos Hrana, handled by Billy Henderson and co-owned and living with Ciaran and Ann Marie Donnelly, was second.

CLONMEL '14 GROUP 3
Patrick Dooner judged group 3 for the first time, and his winner was the six month old Lakeland Terrier, Tina and Catherine Broaders’ Brookside Aristocrat, handled by Catherine. Second was Sean and Eileen Knight’s Airedale Ch Mynight Denman, taking a first group spot this year.

CLONMEL '14 GROUP 4
Pedro Delerue from Portugal was in charge of the Dachshunds of group 4 and his winner was Jennifer Cunningham’s Smooth Ch Carpaccio Elegant Emerald for Celandine with Dawn Norton’s Miniature Longhaired Kasanova V Desaro at Halunke second, both with their first group placings of the year.

CLONMEL '14 GROUP 5
Group 5 was judged by Colombian Denys Janssen whose winner was Peri Burnside’s Alaskan Malamute Ch Libertia Reggae Master, handled to a fourth group victory of the year by son Adam, with Olive Taylor’s Chow Chow Ch Cladev’s Starstruck with Taylorian taking a first group spot of the year in the runner-up slot.

CLONMEL '14 GROUP 6
Micky Parker, well known for her Kaninchen Dachshunds, was in charge of group 6, where she found her winner in the Petit Basset Griffon Vendéen Ch Afterglow Chunkey Monkey of Tejas, owned by Ivor and Michelle Keelan, en route to RBIS. Gail and Eddie Patterson’s Rhodesian Ridgeback Ch Rocksham Kimweri was in second place

CLONMEL '14 GROUP 7
Laura Cox of Coxgal Bull Terrier fame and secretary of Limerick later in the week, judged group 7 and sent on the eventual BIS3, the Weimaraner Northwoods Applebees Money Talks at Zilverein, imported by Jim and Karen Gibson who own him with breeders Heidi Waren and Philip Palmer. Runner-up was Sinead Taggart’s Hungarian Vizsla Sh Ch/GB Sh Ch Bitcon Card Tricks for Cooley.

CLONMEL '14 GROUP 8
Susan Hewinson chose for her group 8 winner the Cocker Spaniel, Kerry Brennan’s Bencleuch Brilliantino at Kerrijoy, handled by partner Tommy Hamilton to a first group win, with Jane and Steve Eyeington’s English Springer GB Sh Ch Meadowdale Chaos in second spot.

CLONMEL '14 GROUP 9
Tina Taulos from Finland decided her group 9 winner was ‘Isak’ the Toy Poodle, Ann Ingram, Kay Ryan, Marlies Marzik, Lisa Nelson and Leanne Bryant’s Ch/GB Ch Tirkane The Big Issue, just one step away from taking the big rosette at the end of the day. Paula Hamilton’s Boston Terrier Ch Havasu Sand Storm was second.

Micky Parker was again centre ring for group 10 and found her winner in Lynda and Colin Matthews and Stephen Minogue’s Borzoi Ch/Int Ch Donskoi Asmodey, ‘Louis’ going on to BIS4, with Lyn Appleby, John Minchin and Jane Edwards’ Afghan Hound Davashey To Tell The Truth, BIS the previous day at the Hound Association, runner-up.
