COMBINED CANINE CLUB PUP OF THE YEAR 2011 - PUP OF THE YEAR
Having won the IKC Showdog Awards 2011 Finals at the Crowne Plaza in February under Nina Karlsdotter, Ashling Connolly’s homebred Bichon Frisé, Ashmair Double Act, was crowned Combined Canine Club Pup of the Year under Croatian judge, Bojan Matakovic, whose name was the first out of the hat. Now designated the ‘Gain POTY’ as the new sponsor is Gain Pet Food, ‘Beau’ who started 2012 needing to take just one more Green Star over the age of 15 months to clinch his Irish crown, took that vital win at IKC Celtic Winners in March, compounding it the previous day at CCC International under Michael Forte, just to be sure, so is now an Irish Champion as well as a Junior Champion. With 9 group placings last year, including two Group 1st and a BIS 3rd, he already has a CC & BIS from the Northern and Midland Bichon Club Show, and a RCC from Belfast last year. He had qualified for the POTY finals at Fermoy International in May ’11 under Donal Neally.
