BULL BREEDS '12 BEST IN SHOW
Best in Show at Bull Breeds 2012 was Des Manton (Scallywag), one of Ireland’s All Breeds judges, and from the top class line-up comprising the 10 group winners, Des selected James Newman and Sean Carroll’s Papillon, Ch, GB, Ger Slov & Int Ch Denemore Iconsruben, a third such success this year for ‘Ruben’, handled today by James. Reserve BIS under Des was Gerry McFaul’s Standard Long Haired Dachshund, Ch & GB Ch Dachville Special Blend.

Des Manton judged Best Baby Puppy in Show where his winner Cathy Cooper and breeder Saskia Kuipers', Shar Pei, Full Of Fires Red Night District, handled by Mick Cooper, with Reserve BBPIS going to Fiona Carr’s Boxer, Bessbox Top Gun At Boxcatow, handled by co-breeder Paul Keenan.

Topping the Veteran Stakes under Jean MacClancy was the Duncan’s Welsh Springer Spaniel, 8 year old Sh Ch Redfrith Chianti, handled by Catherine Halpin, with Eamon and Ann White’s BSD Tervueren, Ch Revloch Ready Teddy Go To Whitandon, in second place.

Joan Walsh was the Group 1 judge, and her winner was the Old English Sheepdog, Colm and Rose Hastings’ Ch, Am Ch & Int Ch Lambluvs Live The Dream, who went on to BIS 4 with runner-up spot going to Amanda Lattimer’s Bearded Collie, Ch & Int Ch Coalacre Alexandrite.

Rony Doedjins, judged Group 2, finding his winner in Billy and Josh Henderson’s Dobermann Pinscher, Tuwos Halestorm, handled on the day by Josh, runner-up was Willie and Many Dobbin’s well Newfoundland, Ch & GB Ch Fairweathers Knockout With Brooklynbear.

Cindy Burgundthal judged Group 3 where her winner was Ross Delmar’s Smooth Fox Terrier, Ch & Int Ch Shillelagh Smooth Operator, with Cathy Neill and Cara Davani’s Kerry Blue Terrie, Ch & GB Ch Kebulak Dirty Harry, runner-up.

Breed Specialist, Inez Pattison, judged all the Dachshunds awarding Group 4 to Gerry McFaul’s Standard Long Haired, Ch & GB Ch Dachville Special Blend, who went on to Reserve BIS later in the day, with in second place Lesley Patton’s Wire Haired, Bardings By The Way.

Iris Handcock, made her group judging debut with Group 5, awarding top spot to Ralph and Sue Holmes’ homebred Siberian Husky, Suraliam Walking On Sunshine, handled by Sue, with Sean Carroll and James Newman’ top winning Pomeranian Ch, GB & Int Ch Belliver The Ultimate Creation in the runner-up spot.

Rony Doedjins also judged Group 6, putting through Barry O’Neill and Sandra Stack’s Basset Hound, Ch & GB Ch Knockogue Arthurs Legacy, with in second place, Mike Gadsby & Michael Ellingford’s Petit Basset Griffon Vendeen, Afterglow Chunkey Monkey.

Gundog specialist, Angela Hancock,judged Group 7, awarding the top place to Aiden McKiernan’s English Setter, Sh Ch Richecca Reach For The Skye, while the runner-up rosette went to Lindsay Belcher’s Italian Spinone, Sh Ch & Int Sh Ch Sosteli SantanaIn.
