Heading up the Puppy Stakes under Ken Crockett was Caroline Reynolds’ 7 months old Smooth Haired Dachshund, Glenariff Quite Something; runner-up was Clare O’Prey’s 7 months old Smooth Fox Terrier bitch, Shillelagh Miss Marples.

Ken Crockett’s Champion Stakes winner was Sarah and Gavin Robertson, Lizzie Greenslade and Cathy Neill’s Petit Basset Griffon Vendeen, Ch Soletrader Buddy Holly, with second place going to Conor Cahill and Mary Conroy’s American Akita, Ch & GB Ch Roycon Raising Hell.

Topping the Veteran Stakes at Bray under Ken Crockett was Lesley Patton’s 8 year old Wire Haired Dachshund, Ch & GB Ch Leasandic Sea The Stars, with second place going to Martin Bailey and Jennifer Duggan’s OES, Ch & Int Ch Dromtrasna Jack At Guapo.

A new innovation at Bray this year was the introduction of the Breeder class, judged before Best in Show by Robert Paust, whose winner was Moira Grant Cook’s Kerronmor Pugs.

Heading up Group 2 under Otakar Vondrous from the Czech Republic was Sandra English’s St Bernard, Ch Mira Ronan Van't Hof Ten Eynder, going on to finish the day Reserve BIS; David Gaffney’s Bullmastiff, Ch Bullman Bear Nessessities took the runner-up rosette.

John Bond’s Group 3 winner was Harry O’Donoghue’s BIS winning Wire Fox Terrier, Ch Blackdale Park Royal, handled by granddaughter, Kelly, with Paul Butterfield, Brendan McGivern and Harold Quigg’s Kerry Blue Terrier, Ch Irisblu The Harpist in second place.

Czech judge, Mr J Busta, judged Group 4, finding his winner in Caroline Reynolds’ 9 months old Smooth Haired puppy, Cwmdarhian Wally Lewis Glenariff, with Bill Warke’s 15 months old Standard Long, Glasvey Bounty Beauty, taking the runner-up rosette.

Topping Group 5 under Otakar Vondrous was Maria and Ray Weafer’s 2 year old American Akita, Mamoru The Queen Of Hearts, taking a first group victory, with second place awarded to Maureen and Brian Carroll’s Keeshond, Ch & Int Ch Cedarhills-Shamrock Foreign Correspondent Lyntova.

Elaine Drennan’s Group 6 winner was Eamon Murray’s Beagle, Timamso Sunaina; in second place was Keelan’s Petit Basset Griffon Vendeen, Ch Tejas Heartbreaker.

Aidan McKiernan judged Group 7 where his winner was Tom and Annie Mervyn’s 11 months old homebred German Shorthaired Pointer, Tomanipoint Annie's Mazurka; in second place was the top winning Pointer, Stewart and Heather Cummings and Kelly Lawless’ <Sh Ch & Int Sh Ch Kanix Kroner At Sevenhills.
