Karen Gilliland chose as her winner Mandy Finnegan’s Bearded Collie Firstprizebears Paris Hilton, five-month-old ‘Tasha’ was bred in Belgium. RBBPIS went to Gerald Delaney’s Irish Terrier Carliams Red Alert, handled by Liam Delaney.

BRAY '16 PUPPY STAKES
The stakes classes at Bray were judged by Peter Farrell and he started with the Puppy Stakes where his winner and Irish Pup of the Year qualifier was Ashleigh and Rebecca Drysdale and Terry Griffn’s six-month-old Chow Kwaitang Khol Kat At Szechwan. Runner-up was Brenda and Joe Doyle’s six-month-old Shetland Sheepdog Little Barbie Girl des Romarins de Mayerling for Sevenoaks.

BRAY '16 CHAMPION STAKES
Heading the Champion Stakes under Peter Farrell was Carla Bollard O’Callaghan’s Afghan Hound Ch Ashahni Celtic Fire, ‘Nico’, now going forward to the Champion of Champions final next January. In second place was the Groenendael, Jean, Kelly and Paul Lawless’ Ch, GB & Dutch Ch Revloch Figo.

BRAY '16 VETERAN STAKES
The Veteran Stakes judged by Peter Farrell was won by Pamela and Ryan Hunter’s Whippet Ch, GB & Int Ch Mossbawnhill It’s All Bout Me, nine-year-old ‘Pebble’ last year’s runner-up on the Royal Canin/Irish Canine Press Veteran Leaderboard. Runner-up was Carla Bollard O’Callaghan’s Afghan Hound Ch, GB & Int Ch Ashahni Amir.

BRAY '16 BRACE STAKES
Topping the Brace Stakes was the Whippet pairing, Aisling Carney’s Barnesmore Flashman and Alafrique Captain Conan, with second place awarded to the Collins and Dowdall partnership’s Tibetan Spaniels Pancoll Muirbrucht and Pancoll Siog Ghaoithe.

John Bond’s Group 1 winner, Frances Toman’s Pembroke Corgi Ch Whitepoint Stare If You Dare at Manto, went on to win RBIS; runner-up was David McKenna’s Bouvier des Flandres Ch Nikolaev Tyrion at Davdeir.

John Bond also judged Group 2, finding his winner in Rose Dooley’s Great Dane Ch & Lux Ch Ballyfrawley Poker Face, while second place went to Joe Lyons and Belinda Holmes’ Russian Black Terrier Ch & Int Ch Kalaslane Kick Ass.

Topping the Terriers in Group 3 under Goran Gladic was the BIS-winning Kerry Blue, Harold and Helena Quigg’s Irisblu The Fiddler, with second place awarded to Ross Delmar and Ewa Lunden’s Smooth Fox Terrier Multi Ch Residensets Stand-In.

BRAY '16 GROUP 4
Bill Warke’s Longhaired Dachshund Glasvey Hurricane Run, handled by Gerry McFaul, the eventual BIS4 winner, was Chris Moes’ choice to head Group 4 with second place going to Martin McDonnell’s Miniature Longhaired Ch Smartdac Supernatural.

Lyn Kilby’s Group 5 winner was Jimmy Duggan’s Siberian Husky Leorient Flying Solo, handled by Anita Foley Duggan, ‘Colby’ following in his father ‘Flint’s’ footsteps. In second place was the Keeshond, Maureen and Brian Carroll’s Ch & Int Ch Lyntova Legend Has It.

Noreen Clarke’s Group 6 winner was Eamon Murray’s Beagle Annavah Leonardo De Vinci. In second place was Ivor and Michelle Keelan’s Petit Basset Griffon Vendéen Ch & Int Ch Afterglow Chunkey Monkey.

Dave Lawlor judged Group 7 where his winner was Cathy Loughlin’s Irish Setter Sh Ch Rohanmor Jorja On My Mind, with the runner-up spot taken by Paudie and Martina O’Shea’s Irish Red and White Setter Sh Ch Mizen Adair.

Heading Group 8 under Vojislav Aldaghistani was Monica and Mags Boardman’s American Cocker Spaniel Sh Ch Portsann Bling And Sparkle, with in second place Martin and Mary O’Donoghue’s Labrador Retriever Sh Ch Philipstown Atlantic Breeze.

Maureen Miles’ Group 9 winner was Sally and Sean Burns and Val and Mary Coghlan’s Standard Poodle Ch Dinasti Ther Libertine Afterglow, ‘Bert’ the eventual BIS3 winner, with Gordon Gault and Henry Stanley’s Pekingese Ch Pekehuis Midnight Magic, in the runner-up slot.
