Karen Gilliland chose as her winner Mandy Finnegan’s Bearded Collie Firstprizebears Paris Hilton, five-month-old ‘Tasha’ was bred in Belgium. RBBPIS went to Gerald Delaney’s Irish Terrier Carliams Red Alert, handled by Liam Delaney.

The stakes classes at Bray were judged by Peter Farrell and he started with the Puppy Stakes where his winner and Irish Pup of the Year qualifier was Ashleigh and Rebecca Drysdale and Terry Griffn’s six-month-old Chow Kwaitang Khol Kat At Szechwan. Runner-up was Brenda and Joe Doyle’s six-month-old Shetland Sheepdog Little Barbie Girl des Romarins de Mayerling for Sevenoaks.

Heading the Champion Stakes under Peter Farrell was Carla Bollard O’Callaghan’s Afghan Hound Ch Ashahni Celtic Fire, ‘Nico’, now going forward to the Champion of Champions final next January. In second place was the Groenendael, Jean, Kelly and Paul Lawless’ Ch, GB & Dutch Ch Revloch Figo.

The Veteran Stakes judged by Peter Farrell was won by Pamela and Ryan Hunter’s Whippet Ch, GB & Int Ch Mossbawnhill It’s All Bout Me, nine-year-old ‘Pebble’ last year’s runner-up on the Royal Canin/Irish Canine Press Veteran Leaderboard. Runner-up was Carla Bollard O’Callaghan’s Afghan Hound Ch, GB & Int Ch Ashahni Amir.

Topping the Brace Stakes was the Whippet pairing, Aisling Carney’s Barnesmore Flashman and Alafrique Captain Conan, with second place awarded to the Collins and Dowdall partnership’s Tibetan Spaniels Pancoll Muirbrucht and Pancoll Siog Ghaoithe.
