Ex pat, Kevin Anderson, made a return trip to his native Ireland and, during the break with his family, took in Bray all breed Championship Show with his homebred Irish Terrier, multi CC winning GB Ch Kerrykeel Eoghan, where he topped the entry of over 1,200 dogs under BIS judge, Patsy McDevitt. Reserve BIS under Patsy was Carla Bollard O’Callaghan’s Afghan Hound, multi BIS and Group winner Ch & GB Ch Ashahni Amir. Bray’s generous sponsors were Happy Dog, represented by Jackie Stubbs.

Patsy McDevitt also had the pleasurable task of selecting Best Baby Puppy in Show from all the Best Baby Puppy in Breed winners, and his winner was Kerry and Katie Kelly’s Golden Retriever, Zenevieva Cos I Kan. RBBPIS went to Triona Ni She’s Dobermann Ruholfia El Drico.

Heading up the Champion Stakes under Brian O’Hara was Barry O’Neill’s Basset Hound, Ch, GB & Int Ch Knockogue Arthurs Legacy. Taking second spot under Brian was Brenda and Joe Doyle’s Shetland Sheepdog, Ch Sevenoaks Gold Edition.

Brian O’Hara also judged the Puppy Stakes and winning his ticket was Maria and Ray Weafer, Matthew Bostock & Janet Armstrong’s American Akita, Mamoru All That Jazz With Ruthdales. Taking the runner-up spot was Paul, Jean and Kelly Lawless’ BSD Groenendael, Revloch Hocus Pocus.

Topping the Veteran Stakes under Brian O’Hara was Pamela and Ryan Hunter’s 11 years old Whippet, Ch & Int Ch Collooney Mamma Mia, with Linda and Paul Magee’s P.B.G.V. Ch & Int Ch Debucher Quelqu’n D’Autre Avec Clonallan, handled by daughter Mailliadah, in second place.

Amanda O’Neill’s Smooth Haired Dachshunds, Thundergay Abilene, and Thundergay Due South, took the Brace Stakes at Bray under Brian O’Hara.

Marie Clare Walsh judged Group 1 where her winner was Oliver (Sonny) Noonan’s Cardigan Corgi, Liste Line Diamant For Ameritz. In second place came Emilio Castillo and Patrick Fortune’s Shetland Sheepdog, Can Ch Grandgables Romantica.

Taking charge of Group 2 was Roland Sporr from Austria who chose as his winner, Triona Ni She’s Dobermann Pinscher, Ch, GB Ch, Nl & Multi Ch Farentino Wot A Thriller At Ruholfia, with in second spot Kieran O’Connell’s Bullmastiff, Ch Watercress Buffalo Bob.

Topping Group 3 under terrier specialist Cathy Neill was the eventual BIS winning Irish Terrier, Kevin Anderson's GB Ch Kerrykeel Eoghan, whilst Cathy’s runner-up rosette went to Alan Daly’s Sealyham Terrier, Ch & Int Ch Cibach Celtic Connection Of Thornberryhall.

Heading up 4 under Tom O’Reilly was a delighted Benita Morrison with her Wire Haired Kaninchen, Benzden Prada, whilst second place was taken by Julie Emerson’s Ch Pachego Dark And Destructive.

Group 5 was judged by Bob Browne whose winner was the BIS 3 winning Keeshond, Liz Wogan’s GB Ch Neradmik Uptown Girl Deminiac, in second place under Bob was Peri Burnside’s Alaskan Malamute, Ch Libertia Reggae Master, handled as always by son Adam.

Tom O'Reilly also judged Group 6, awarding the group to Eamon Murray's Beagle, Timamso Beachcomber, with in second place, Ivor and Michelle Keelan’s Petit Basset Griffon Vendeen, Ch Afterglow Chunkey Monkey Of Tejas.

Ger Philpott was judge elect in Group 7 where his victor's rosette went to Noleen Eccles and Joyce Rugiok's Italian Spinone, Sh Ch Hastabbi Slap And Tickle At Sharpshot. Taking second place today was Cathy Loughlin’s Irish Setter, Sh Ch Discovery’s Let The Heart Beat For Rohanmor.

Caroline Coode officiated in Group 8, where her winner was Ken Kennedy’s Irish Water Spaniel, Sh Ch Stanegate Firefly. Second place in the group was awarded to the American Cocker Spaniel, the multi owned Beattie, Lynch & Lynch’s Myglie Crime Of Passion, handled as always by Colm Beattie.

Angela Power was centre ring for Group 9, awarding top spot to Moira Grant-Cook’s Pug, Ch Kerronmor Turbo B, handled by husband Ronnie, with second spot going to Sharon O’Brien’s Tibetan Spaniel, Ch & GB Ch Rosanley The Adonis At Torfness.

Margaret O’Gorman judged Group 10, finding her winner in Carla Bollard O’Callaghan’s Afghan Hound, Ch, GB & Int Ch Ashanhi Amir. Margaret’s choice for second place in the sighthound group fell to Tim, Marion and Ian Finney’s Irish Wolfhound, Ch Cuknocklong Henry Higgins.

Catherine Broaders took the 13 - 14 years Junior Handling Class and finished Best Overall under Patsy McDevitt, handling the family’s Wire Fox Terrier, the veteran Ch Crystalwire Solo of Brookside.

The Whippet Club took the opportunity of having their Club Championship Show at Bray, therefore offering two sets of green stars for the breed. Judged by Albert Ritchie, Gwendariff Whippets, he chose for his GS and BIS, Lynda and Colin Matthews’ Mosssbawnhill In Hot Pursuit With Ailesbury. Pamela and Ryan Hunter’s, Mossbawnhill Crowd Appeal, took Reserve BIS. Happy Dog sponsored the show and Jackie Stubbs handed out the prizes.
