BRAY '13 BEST IN SHOW
Lhasa Apso aficionado, Chris Cathcart, was making his debut centre stage in the Best in Show ring and from his ten group winners, he chose for top spot the Kerry Blue Terrier, GB Ch Torums Calico Jack, taking his second Best in Show inside a few weeks as he triumphed at Swords in mid June. Co-owned by Harold Quigg and breeder Ron Ramsay, shown by Harold, and encouraged and show managed by Helena, 3 years old ‘Jack’ has 3 CCs and was BIS at the UK Club show. Reserve BIS went to Eamon Keenan’s Lhasa Apso, homebred Heneva Raising The Bets, 15 months old and already a veteran of group appearances.

BRAY '13 BEST BABY PUPPY IN SHOW
From all the Best Baby Puppy in Breed winners, Chris Cathcart’s winner of Best Baby Puppy in Show was Gyte Morkute’s 4½ months old Rottweiler, Rosamic Maximus Strength And Honour, with runner-up to Allen’s American Akita, Cannonbear Smokin Joe.

Heading up the Champion Stakes under Marion Sloan was Lyn Appleby, John Minchin and Jane Edwards’ Afghan Hound, Ch and GB Ch, Valkor Rumor Has It, with second spot on the podium going to Deirdre and Claire Robinson’s Bearded Collie, Ch & Int Ch Kiltondale Magnetism.
BRAY '13 PUPPY STAKES
In the Puppy Stakes judged by Marion Sloan, winning her ticket to the POTY Finals next Easter was Lorna Hynes’ American Cocker Spaniel, 10 months old Fielgar Royal Delight, with Seamus and Maura Gettings’ homebred Dobermann, Beechillawn Mo Farrah, in the reserve spot.

Marion Sloan’s Veteran Stakes winner was Cathy Loughlin’s almost 10 year old Irish Setter, Sh Ch & Int Sh Ch Thendara Versace Among Rohanmor, keeping up him points on the ICP/ROYAL CANIN Veteran Leaderboard, with, in second place, Una Rigney’s Kerry Blue Terrier, Ch & GB Ch Misty Blue Dawn At Arigna.

Topping Group 1 under Ann White of the famous Abberran Irish Glen of Imaals was Geraldine Mulrooney’s Old English Sheepdog, Bellablue Fellabreda, handled by Seamus Keane; and still a junior. Runner-up under Ann was Paul, Jean and Kelly Lawless’ BSD Groenendael, 7 months old Revloch Figo.

UK judge, Peter Jolley, was in charge of Group 2 where his winner was the Bernese Mountain Dog, David and Jackie Benson’s Ch & GB Ch Patrick De La Galea At Bernervalley, a top winner at home and across the water, his most recent success saw him take Best in Show at South Tipperary in May. Reserve under Peter was Stephen Kinsella’s 3 years old import Newfoundland, Fearless Bear’s Inthemood At Kenamu.

Taking his first trip into the world of Terriers was Patsy McDevitt of the Keenaughts Chihuahuas, whose Group 3 winner was the eventual Best in Show winning Kerry Blue Terrier, GB Ch Torums Calico Jack, with in second spot, Ross Delmar’s Smooth Fox Terrier, the top winning Ch & Int Ch Shillelagh Smooth Operator; ‘Balloo’ a multi group and BIS winner.

Mrs J Pain judged the Dachshunds of Group 4 and her group winner saw success for Gerry McFaul’s Long Haired, Ch Dachville Classical Blend, followed on to the winner’s rostrum by the Emerson’s Long Haired Miniature, Longfort Mini Cooper At Pachego, handled by young Courtney Emerson.

Des Kavanagh of Markav Boxer fame judged Group 5 where his winner was the Siberian Husky, Jimmy Duggan’s Ch & Int Ch Bedarra Cold Paws Warm Heart For Leorient, handled by wife Anita, ‘Flint’ going on to BIS 4; in second spot was Jennifer Garry’s Samoyed, Ch Blueagean Oracle Of Appollo.

Keeping up his commanding lead at the top of the ICP/Connolly’s RED MILLS Leaderboard for Group 6 was Barry O’Neill’s top winning Basset Hound, Ch & GB Ch Knockogue Arthurs Legacy, today winning under judge, Gavin Robertson, no stranger to the big ring himself, chose Aidan McKiernan’s Beagle, GB Ch Dialynne Mr Sunshine, 3rd last weekend at Kilkenny, for his runner-up.

Aidan McKiernan was back in the limelight, this time in Group 7, when his English Setter, Sh Ch & GB Sh Ch Richecca Reach For The Skye, topped the group under Ann White, en route to BIS 3, whilst Tom and Annie Mervyn’s German Short Haired Pointer, Sh Ch & GB Sh Ch Karlivar Dusky Rose At Tomanipoint, ‘Lucy’ was Group 2.

Ann Taggart of Cooley Westie fame was centre stage for Group 8, finding her winner in Catherine Collins’ import Golden Retriever, Dewmist Glitterissa. In second place was the multi owned American Cocker Spaniel, Keenan, Nelson, Nelson and Bryant’s Nasailleen In The Buff.
BRAY '13 GROUP 9
Judging the large diverse Group 9 was Bob Brampton, well known both at home in the UK and also in Ireland and Europe, and his victor was the RBIS winner, Eamon Keenan’s Lhasa Apso, Heneva Raising The Bets, with Julie Connolly’s Havanese, Ch & Int Ch Indio Vom Kaplesberg At Snazzipaws in second spot.
BRAY '13 GROUP 10
Gavin Robertson was back on the spot for Group 10 where his winner was Marion, Tim and Ian Finney’s Irish Wolfhound, Gulliagh Aramis; Gavin’s runner-up was Albert Ritchie’s Whippet, Demerlay Armamay Billie Jean, handled expertly as usual by Grand daughter, Danielle Ritchie-Smith.
