Best in Show at Bray & District 2012 was judged by Dave Lawlor, well known Chairman of Killarney & District, and from the ten group winners, chose Alan and Rita Fitzsimmons’ Yorkshire Terrier, Ch Only You My Sky Te Nemrac-Aninuq at Fitzelly, as his winner. Two year old ‘Sky’ is an import from Spain and was today taking his first group placing; he was Annual Champion 2011. Reserve BIS under Dave was the Pomeranian, Luydmilla Komjakova’s Pomeranian, Multi Ch Silhouettes So Special N – One, handled by Justin Carroll.

Topping the Champion Stakes at Bray under Willie Dobbin was Ciaran and Ann Marie Donnelly & Billy and Josh Henderson’s Dobermann Pinscher, Ch & GB Ch Tuwos Hrana, ‘Maebh’ a top winner at home with numerous groups and across the water with a great collection of CCs as well In second place came Raewyn Dowsett’s Maltese, Ch Zumarnik Hot Pursuit.

BRAY '12 PUPPY STAKES
Following on from his BIS judging at Kilkenny, Willie Dobbin was back centre ring at Bray where he judged all the Stakes classes. In the Puppy Stakes, his winner of the coveted ticket to the POTY Final next Easter was Louis Hogan and John Yek’s Pekingese, homebred Pearlstone Suzi Wong, 6 months and 2 days old ‘Susie’ attending her first Ch show. Runner-up was June Gould’s Bichon Frise, Rusmar One Step At A Time.

Having a great day at Bray was Eamon and Ann White’s BSD Tervueren, Ch Revloch Ready Teddy Go To Whitandon, as well as winning Group 1 and BIS 3, nine year old ‘Lennox’ was also the winner of the Veteran Stakes under Willie Dobbin whose second place went to Lyn Appleby, John Minchin and Jane Edwards’ Afghan Hound, Ch Kazdanabad Karlo Rossi.

Winning the Brace Stakes at Bray under Willie Dobbin were to Giant Szhnauzers, Angela and daughter Emma Willis’ Ch Jannem Boy George Jun Ch and Jannem Munire, brother and sister from a repeat mating, and handled as usual by Emma.

Iris Cummings officiated Group 1 where she found her winner in Eamon and Ann White’s BSD Tervueren, Ch Revloch Ready Teddy Go To Whitandon, 9 year old ‘Lennox’ going on to BIS 3. In second place was Deidre & Clare Robinson’s Bearded Collie, Ch & Int Ch Kiltondale Magnetism, the NI Showdog of the Year and Working & Pastoral DOTY winner 2011.

Stephen Richardson’s winner in Group 2 was Tracy Shelly’s Shar Pei, Ch Rozabaron Lord of Zaralee, group winner at Deise and BOB this year at Crufts, with Sally Tonks’ Pyrenean Mountain Dog, Ch & Int Ch Shanlimore Maverick in second place, more points on the ICP/Connolly’s Red Mills Leaderboard for ‘Darcy’ as he moves into the top four after similar successes at Fermoy and Hibernian.

Peter Bakewell from England was in charge of the Terrier Group, Group 3, where his winner was the eventual BIS winning Yorkshire Terrier, Alan & Rita Fitzsimmons’ Yorkshire Terrier, Ch Only You My Sky Te Nemrac-Aninuq at Fitzelly, with the runner-up spot going to Jimmy Hogan’s Sealyham Terrier, Ch & Am Ch Fanfare’s all About Morgan at Mistywaters, handled by Justin Carroll.

Caroline Reynolds was centre ring for the Dachshunds of Group 4, finding her winner in Lesley Patton’s Wire Haired Dachshund, Ch Lesandnic Lily Agnes, another group win for this top winning kennel with. in second place, Gerry McFaul’s Long Haired Dachshund, Dachville Classical Blend, group winner at South Tipperary and Cork earlier in the year.

Patsy Lawlor, well known Secretary of Killarney Ch show, was the judge elect for Group 5 where her winner was Luydmilla Komjakova’s Pomeranian, Multi Ch Silhouettes So Special N – One, group 2 at Munster Canine and today going on to RBIS. In second place was Jerry Daly’s Norwegian Elkhound, Ch Whittimere Pandemonium, BIS at the IKC Celtic Winners show 2011.

Judging Group 6 was Stephen Lloyd, well known for his top winning Owenavera Lhasa Apso and Afghan Hounds, and he awarded top spot to Eamon Murray’s BIS winning Beagle, Ch Heathergrove Persian Warrior, his fourth group success this year, with in second place Barry O’Neill & Sandra Stack’s Basset Hound, Ch & GB Ch Knockogue Arthurs Legacy, most recently BIS at Kilkenny.

No stranger to the big ring himself, judging Group 7 was Moray Armstrong whose winner was Ken Kennedy’s Irish Setter Sh Ch & GB Sh Ch Glennara Coer De Lion, a first group victory this year after several group placings, with Tom and Annie Mervyn’s dual CC winning German Short Haired Pointer, Sh Ch Karlivar Dusky Rose, group winner at Banbridge, in second place.

Dorothea Carroll judged Group 8, finding her winner in Joe Caulfield & Joanne Furlong’s Irish Water Spaniel, Sh Ch CIE Fynder On Shifting Ground, a fifth group success for him this year as he heads up the ICP/Connolly’s Red Mills Leaderboard.In second place was Colm & Rita Beattie & Mike Bottomley’s American Cocker Spaniel, Boduf Divine, 14 months old ‘Diva’ today winning her 9th Green Star but unable to claim her title until she is 15 months old, something she achieved the following week at ILKA. Best Puppy in Breed at Manchester, she was BIS 3 at Banbridge, group winner at Hibernian and G2 at Munster Canine and G3 at Newtownards.

Angela McNally was centre stage for the large Group 9 where her winner was Henry Stanley and Gordon Gault’s homebred Pekingese, Moonwhispers Intrique Fate, following on from his third place recently at Swords, with James Newman’s Papillon, Ch, GB, Ger, Slov & Int Ch Denemore Iconsruben, last year’s IKC Dog of the Year, in the runner-up spot.

Topping the Sighthounds of Group 10 under Rodney McDowell was Tim, Marion & Ian Finney’s Irish Wolfhound, Gulliagh Aramis, one step up from his runner-up spot at Deise the previous week with Lynda & Colin Cuthbert Matthews’ Whippet, Ch, GB & Int Ch Collooney He’s The One in second place, ‘Brad’ the IKC Dog of the Year 2010.
